Hey guys,
CEO of Gab.com here.
Here is our full response to Stripe:
Hello Stripe Support,
To our knowledge no one is using GabTV to specifically livestream adult content and certainly not charging to access this live content because that is not possible on Gab. Can you please cite any specific examples for our review if you have discovered any? Currently only GabPro accounts can livestream content, but Gab native video uploading can be used by anyone including free version users. I think you may be conflating GabTV livestreaming with Gab native video uploading. Further, anyone can view and access any native video or livestreaming content for free on Gab without processing any payments through Stripe or anyone else. We do not offer any form of "exclusive" video unlocking access features via GabPro.
Secondly, we have several protocols and user guidelines in place to prevent any illegal activity on the site. We work with law enforcement regularly and see to it that any illegal content is reported to the proper agencies. We also have several technical features in place such as PhotoDNA to scan for and report any illegal content, machine learning systems that detect nudity which is not properly labeled NSFW, and user guidelines that require any adult content to be marked as Not Safe For Work; which is a setting that is on by default for all users and public-facing links. Both our User Guidelines and our GabPro Content Creator Agreement state that we do not allow any illegal activity on our service.
We believe these guidelines and our user agreements already cover what your own guidelines require and we will certainly take action on any offending accounts if you can point us to specific violating examples. We will also work to add improved reporting features to GabTV videos to make it easier for users to flag this content in the future.
We are happy to jump on a call if it is easier to discuss because some of your requests are not clear. For example your demand that we remove all adult content from the entire site, which is a bit unreasonable considering the many technical and user guidelines we have in place to ensure the specific Stripe guideline you cite is not violated and that no illegal activity is happening on the site.
Please advise

PS HN: We release our API today. Hit me up if you want to build something cool: andrew@gab.com https://developers.gab.com/
Cry about it.
TL;DR: You're a gullible moron who believes everything you read on the internet.
implying that Facebook, Twitter, and indeed HN itself aren't information bubbles for people who think alike.
This is categorically false. People who love and want to defend free speech go there. If you want to continue living in a bubble world, stay on Twitter.
Until I was banned for saying "build the wall" on Twitter.
Wrong.
It's the Twitter for free speech.
1. No I would have delivered pizzas, done consulting, or tried to raise money from individual angels. I would have done whatever it took to keep the company alive, but I can promise we would have never even considered another accelerator.
2. I will never apply to another accelerator.
I'm just the lowly CEO, I'll see if I can get our CTO to jump in and explain later. :)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's a bold statement, but it's my personal opinion and I stand by it. You're free to disagree, but we would have never even considered another accelerator in our position.
Happy to explain, please shoot me an email: andrew@kuhcoon.com thanks!
:) We believe we are solving a massive unmet need in the market right now and I think Product Hunt did a great job of proving that hypothesis. Appreciate your kind words!
Hey all founder here,
Advertising on the Internet is a complex, fragmented nightmare. Different paid media channels require different strategies, tools, expectations, and most of all: time.
Our goal at Kuhcoon is to completely automate the creation, management, monitoring, and optimization of every paid media campaign on the Internet. For now we do this with Facebook Ads, but soon our advertisers will be able to automate their entire paid media strategy across every paid channel on the web.
We want to help advertisers of every size spend a few minutes a week telling us how much they want to spend, what their goals and creatives are, and who they plan to target. Our Intelligence System will then automatically segment out their audience during creation, A/B test multiple creatives and messages, pause poor performing ads, create and rotate new ad variants between target segments, and drive the budget into top performing campaigns.
The beauty of this automation is that it requires no extra work from the advertiser. There are no complex rule-based systems. There are no unnecessary bell and whistle features. There is no need to anxiously check campaigns every few hours.
Give us these three simple data points: budget, creative/conversion goal, and target demographic. Kuhcoon will then automatically drive your budget into the top performing ads with the lowest cost per conversion and the highest volume.
Happy to answer any questions!
Congrats guys!

Good call call on the contradicting lines(left an edit note giving you credit). Removed the first one for more clarity. I think what I was trying to say is that it's assumed every entrepreneur is a born an extrovert, but some need to overcome their natural inhibition and learn to have the extroverted skills needed to succeed. It's a learned process for all, but definitely nerve wracking for an introvert based on my experience. Great points, thanks for reading and helping me improve the post!
They don't necessarily have to come from a company. We hired a freelance animator to create ours which can be seen on Kuhcoon.com. The point of these videos is to explain your product in a way that is easy enough for users of all ages to understand. They are super effective, but can be costly. Luckily I am personal friends with the animator so we got a good deal, but from research I've done these animations typically cost around $300-$500 for every 15 seconds.
I agree. I mean this is the reason I don't use Foursquare. Why on earth would I tell the entire Internet where I am and where I've been....
Exactly!
That's the point. Most of us who are tech savvy sometimes have the misconception that "everyone knows how to use social media." This is far from the truth. This tool can be used in companies to train employees, it can be used by small business owners who can learn to market their business, and it can even be used by students to learn a new skill and help them find a job by leveraging their social network.
Well it's not just codecademy for social media. The lessons aren't the main aspect of the platform, just a really cool free feature we offer.
Look at it this way: Facebook rolls out new product updates all the time. Where do you go if you are a non-tech savvy person to learn how to use these new features? If you're non-tech savvy you won't be reading mashable or hacker news.
The lessons are just a cool way to entice our free userbase into using the platform. The actual platform itself is meant to be considered an all-in-one tool that recommends new people to follow, offers insight and feedback on content the user is publishing, and also has an awesome free database of knowledge for reference.
Essentially the free tool is a dumbed down version of the Pro tool. This will make a lot more sense when we go live with our 2nd round of beta testing in April. We could use all of the feedback we can get, so signup for our beta and we'd be glad to take your input. We are finishing up iteration on our first beta test now and will be ready to go in mid April.
Thanks for the feedback!
The thing is, it's both.
Our goal is to provide a free platform for non-typical users who are just starting to understand the power and influence of social media. These people are average joes. Small business owners between the ages of 30-60. Because social media changes so much on a monthly basis it's hard for them to keep up. Youtube videos are outdated, and social media consultants are essentially snake oil salesmen charging hundreds of dollars to create a basic Facebook and Twitter page for the business owner.
On the other end we have our Pro tool. This tool will be a powerful marketing tool for social media community managers and enterprise marketing teams. We plan on utilizing the data from our free users to offer optimal posting times, key words, phrases, customized analytics, and targeted marketing on an enterprise level.
Thanks for the tip! We will check it out.
Thanks for the insight!
Thanks! Wow their landing page is legit I love it.
Thanks for the feedback! We want to keep everything really simple and clean, maybe we will go with a darker shade of grey up top.
Realistically.....yes. There are so many new tech blogs popping up everyday, one of them is going to nail content and insight; but at this point TechCrunch is a sinking ship. Even Mashable has been extremely flakey with content lately. It's all "oh check out this meme" or "top ten comments this week"; there's no real value or insight. It seems like Mashable keeps hiring these flakey interns who have no idea how to write insightful content. TechCrunch on the other hand has been trying out multiple writers every weekend with guest posts. Some of them are really well written, others are not so hot.
Good to see Microsoft making some changes as regard to these services. They were confusingly named to begin with and the integration of them all into Windows seamlessly is what is going to hold them afloat while they figure out what they are doing on the mobile space.
No surprise here.
