These Terms apply to your use of HN Glance, regardless of the domain or URL where it is hosted. By using HN Glance, you agree to these Terms.

What HN Glance Is

HN Glance is a lightweight, read-only interface for exploring public Hacker News stories, comments, author profiles, related-story suggestions, and article screenshots. It does not replace Hacker News or the original publishers of linked articles.

Permitted Use

• Use HN Glance only for lawful, personal, informational, or research purposes.
• Do not attack, overload, scrape, or automate HN Glance in a way that harms availability or bypasses reasonable rate limits.
• Do not use HN Glance screenshot or API routes as a general-purpose proxy for unrelated content.
• Do not misrepresent HN Glance as affiliated with Hacker News, Y Combinator, Algolia, Cloudflare, or any article publisher.

Third-Party Content and Links

HN Glance displays public data from Hacker News and related external APIs. Story titles, comments, author information, scores, timestamps, article content, publisher names, trademarks, and linked pages belong to their respective owners. External links are provided for convenience and context; HN Glance is not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security, or privacy practices.

Screenshots

Screenshots are preview images of publicly linked article pages, generated and cached to help readers decide what to open. Copyright and other rights in the underlying pages remain with their owners. If you own or represent content shown in a screenshot and object to the preview, use the current maintainer contact channel and include the relevant HN Glance story ID and source URL.

Copyright and Ownership

The HN Glance name, site copy, visual design, and original application code are owned or licensed by the HN Glance maintainer, except where a published project license says otherwise. All third-party content remains the property of its respective owner. No rights are granted except the limited right to access and use HN Glance under these Terms.

No Warranty

HN Glance is provided as is and as available. Public APIs, screenshots, comments, links, and third-party pages may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, unavailable, or unsafe. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HN Glance disclaims warranties and liability for damages arising from your use of the service or external content.

Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated when HN Glance changes how it works or how it is hosted. Updates will be posted on this page with a new revision date.

For legal, copyright, or abuse notices, use the current maintainer contact channel published with the project or wherever the service was shared. Do not include sensitive personal data in public channels.
