How do you teach leadership in high school?

I am not sure studying things in nature and creating exact models would be a good idea. Imagine trying to model a motor bike or a car by studying Cheetah(Fastest animal on ground). Nature may inspire to model/create useful things.

I think how many hours per week you can work is an individual thing. I need atleast 7 hours of sleep to think straight and produce meaningful stuff (code, designs, conversations, etc).

New Laptop 18 years ago

If you're going to buy MBP from apple, try buying refurbished ones from apple online store, they're about 15-25% less than the brand new ones. I think the refurbished ones go through extra testing as well, so I think its a pretty good deal.

So.. Once you know and understand the solution to a problem or a puzzle, what's the point (with respect to the company that is hiring) in candidate getting lucky in the interview and answering that question?

Usually people say that solution is not the important thing for a question but the process of getting to a correct or wrong solution is important. Some times interviewers ignore this fact.

Instead of puzzles or problems which may surprise some candidates, how about American Idol auditions style interviews. For example, you ask a candidate (for programming job) to design/implement/test some small problem giving the full requirements or simulating changing requirements. Will this process help select a right candidate?

Sorry to hear that your team is not on the same page.

I think the level of commitment from the other two co-founders is much less according to your description, I am not even sure you should give them co-founder status. Remember you're working full time on the project that means you're investing $x (your full time job's salary) every month as opposed to the other guys. From your description the other two guys seems to be playing safe, not risk takers (very much required ingredient for startups)

I think you really need to find new team members who are committed, dedicated, and risk takers.

As far as finding new team members, I think it would be nice to work with people who you know already to reduce time consumed building a new relationship. Otherwise, you got to work with people for some time to find workable team members.

Best of luck

Nice article. I have met couple of people one with Marketing and Sales back ground and another with Finance background. Both had ideas but no developers to develop their product and were looking for a team of developers. They both insisted me to sign a NDA, before they could talk about their idea, I did.

I thought that was little weird for me because I thought both them would have at least 6 months ahead of anyone who tries to copy their idea, but they weren't thinking that way.

Is it ok to sign a NDA? Are there somethings to watch out for? With respect to these candidates, is asking for NDA right way to share an idea and collaborate with others?
