The moment I am too scared to do something because I might damage the tool, it stops being a tool.
What? You can damage even the most robust and simple tool by using it wrongly or inattentively.

You mean this one: https://www.comaps.app/download/
When I heat the word "digitizing" I reach for my gun.
smartphone pairing enables automatic time correction
I like how they're advertising this shitty feature that's much more cumbersome than what their watches have now, namely https://gshock.casio.com/europe/technology/radio/
More like, automatic time correction is the best reason we found for mandating smartphone pairing and we hope you won't remember there's a better solution.
Also, 35 days that the battery lasts is 1/10 of a year, compared to 10 years that radio-synced watches have, so two orders of magnitude less. Fuck off with smartphone pairing, Casio.
edit: 35 hours, lol, so more like three orders of magnitude less.
Except today games all work and invariably markedly better on Linux. Even the games that stopped working on Windows for me work great, like https://www.protondb.com/app/2008510
This FLOSS RAW editor works really well, btw: http://www.rawtherapee.com/
What came through was the voice of people who care deeply about Windows and want it to be better.
Fuck your weasel words
...for people who insist on using only Windows on their personal computer.
I gave up, bought a kobo libra2 that never saw an internet connection (you can find updated firmware online to download) and now just borrow epubs in the soulseek library.
Luckily, they well enshittified it prior to this move, so my account is already deleted. I wish Discord a swift irrelevance.
I don't want to download the code or models for those features in the first place, Mozilla.
You can on Android, using this: https://f-droid.org/it/packages/com.celzero.bravedns/ (it's also on Google's store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.celzero.br... )
Set it as a local proxy to channel all network access through it and you can selectively block any app from accessing any network, or isolate it.
I can tell, because I now use forks of Firefox decrapified by nerds in their basements.
In europe , this is not news, never.
That's just false. Example, here's a shitty tabloid in Croatia:

Vibe coding didn't make me a 10x engineer. But it gave me permission to build again. Ideas I've had for years suddenly feel achievable. That's honestly the bigger win for me.
Did fucking AI also write your article?
CachyOS, it's basically a nice installer to jump into rolling arch. (I made sure it's a Ryzen thinkpad, might be relevant)
I feel like people who say this haven't seen KDE in a very long time. On a thinkpad it not only "just works", it works flawlessly, never demands attention without justification (i.e. no ads or superfluous items in notifications), every bit of hardware works, all the special keys, fingerprint reader and it's all recognized and usable and configurable from KDE.
I'd download epubs of everything from Anna's Archive and/or soulseek (Nicotine+ is nice) and kindly tell them to fuck off with their account.
Basically Neal Stephenson's "Termination Shock" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Termination_Shock_(novel)
“Who is going to trust somebody who got a degree in airline engineering who doesn’t know how to think through a problem without a computer telling them the answer?”
I think the answer is Boeing
I only tolerate the piece of shit phone because of F-Droid. Most of google's apps are banned from connecting to the network (like their fucking keyboard, I don't need or want any internet-requiring options) via Rethink VPN through which all network traffic is routed.
If this goes through, I'm taking my sim card out and putting it into the cheapest dumbphone I can find, using the smartphone strictly offline for OSMAnd navigation and media, uploaded over USB cable.
Let me be reasoned and measured and say fuck the entire gallery of those assholes. I only use Signal now, but I'm fully willing to give that up as well if this goes through and go full GPG-encrypted e-mail with keys exchanged IRL. The only thing I use the smartphone for other than Signal is navigation and OSMand works offline perfectly, I'll just pop my simcard into the cheapest dumbphone I can find and occasionally connect my phone to wifi to download new vector maps.
I recommend "Careless People" by Sarah Wynn-Something
This reminds me to throw 10€ at Signal
"Authentic conversations", with single-serving people provided as matches by an opaque algorithm based on short video vibes, this might as well have been mental health services in Mike Judge's Idiocracy.
These are horrible two and a half backwards steps for usability but please talk to me about how your shitty bouba elements inspire emotion and communicate function. Fucking liars, what emotion is it suppose to inspire that bluetooth is now not turned off when I enter airplane mode and realizing I now need three clicks to shut it off. It's for your own location harvesting bullshit. This inspired me to ban all apps trying to update anything from the network, everything goes through Rethink VPN now and I'm certainly not moving to another major version after 15.
This is just shit, a horrible redesign. I'd much rather "truly express" myself by keeping high information density in the user interface instead of picking color palettes for this trendy "bouba" bullshit. It's as bad a redesign as the recent Bluetooth option, which went from a single click to turn it off (and respecting airplane mode) to multiple clicks and staying on between Android 14 and 15. Of course Google wants BT scanning to work even if you're in airplane mode, they didn't do it for my convenience. I've had enough and am not updating anymore, outside of security updates. Now I use Rethink as on-device VPN and every app, system or not, has no access to the network unless I explicitly enable it, no more nagging to update.
AI is more or less the same thing — it uses our wonder to convince us of a simulacrum of intelligence when what we are really witnessing is, in a sense, our own childish excitement at a trick of anthropomorphisation
This claim would stand better if it wasn't able to solve math and physics problems I struggle with.
How is seeing 7 entries without scrolling better than seeing 20+
You don't have to use any DNS features, Rethink will happily let you set your DNS resolvers to whatever you like, you can just use it as an on-device VPN that allows you to block or isolate everything per app or per connection.
