This argument alone doesn't really work because literally billions of peoples jobs and livelihoods have been replaced throughout history from the explicit development of technology that replaces the need for human labor.

This argument alone works just fine. If you explicitly threaten billions of people that you will make them redundant then you better focus on building a guillotine proof neck.

A friendly reminder to just do 9 to 5 and touch lots of grass. None of this shit represents industry trends, majority of people still use chat interfaces and copy blocks of code. There’s zero early adopter advantage here, only FOMO and lots of anxiety.

There’s a point where it stops scaling in the browser, whether it’s due to scale or poor practices. For example Slack is annoyingly slow to start up and work in my FF, but works OK as an Electron app.

Web tech is just web tech. Yes it will allow you to render a button, but even unstyled, the button won't necessarily look native to the OS, and will vary between browsers.

The irritating, and unnecessary, pedantry.

I think we need regular doses of real human contact — not just with close friends, but with acquaintances, and even with strangers — to counterbalance all the negativity we encounter in the news and online, and to remind us that, on the whole, people are kind and well-meaning.

Well how about cut all the negative bs so there’s nothing to counter-balance? Nobody forces you to read news if they affect you so much.

Jesus H. Christ, what a terrible day to have ears and eyes. Who even consumes this “content”?
