Feeling nostalgic. There is a new tech. In the beginning everyone will be asked to go crazy on spending as much as you can & just focus on the outcome. After a while, they will see just cost is going up (less on outcomes). Now, start throttling the dollar limits per employee. By this time whole industry will settle on this new tech & reality. Everyone will learn it is not all that fancy as it sounded earlier.

Every large tech company of 80s, 90s & 2K (Google, eBay & all) have similar history when it comes to IDE, Source Control, Build Systems etc.,. This is not specific to Google.

Macbook Pro 14" with M5, 32GB RAM, 1TB HDD = $2,099.00

Framework Pro 13" DIY AMD Ryzen 7 350, 32GB RAM, 1TB HDD = $2,049.00

Framework Pro 13" Pre-Built AMD Ryzen 7 350, 32GB RAM, 1TB HDD = $2,059.00

Japan's geography also a biggest factor in using trains over roads. Next comes population density. Resource constraints make them use rails over roads for efficiency. We cannot compare US & Japan.

Don't know if Skills & MCP are comparable. One is static & another is dynamic. It is like comparing static content vs dynamic apis. Probably we need both.

Few years ago. A buyer cheated me on eBay. Basically, they purchased my mac and asked me to ship it to their son's address. They paid money through Paypal & cancelled the transaction after I shipped it. eBay didn't help/pay me because I didn't ship it to buyer's registered address. There is no accountability on eBay end. I lost $1.5K laptop. An expensive learning. Since then, I don't use eBay.
