The project is pretty good but not quite polished. For example the UI could be improved. There is no indication that anything has happened after signing up an account other than by checking the server log. The messaging system could use some work. Entering in a user name for the message recipient is kind of buggy.

In the gem file change the rails version to gem 'rails', '~> 3.1.0.rc6'., then run bundle update. I also had an issue with the rake gem and resolved it with gem uninstall rake. Evidently the rake gem gets installed twice or something. Note, I am using Ruby 1.9.2, rvm.

Most of the testing was done at the Nevada Test Range. Today this is probably the most polluted place in the US. Check it out on google maps, the place looks like the surface of the moon. Area 51, incidentally is very close to that area as well.

When I was over there we often used a simple proxy server, like pimpmyip or zend2. Occasionally we were not able to access these and had to look around for something else.

I see two possibilities: pilot loss of control due to disorientation caused by IMC conditions and subsequent powered flight into the ground or an engine failure. A loaded Cessna 310 has very poor climb performance with a single engine running. Probably an engine failure is the likely cause with the poor weather inhibiting the pilot's ability to make an off runway landing in the marsh.

My first job was at the San Carlos Airport(SQL). I worked in an aircraft avionics shop and made $6.75/hr. At the time I was also taking flying lessons so it was a pretty good deal getting paid to be around airplanes and occasionally getting a ride.
