Love online communities and losing reddit is a huge hit. If hacker news ever goes I honestly don’t know what I’d do.

Are you a pilot or ATC? They’re different, but you build a visual representation of traffic in your brain in both arenas. As a pilot you cannot rely on ATC- you have to fly the plane first and keep yourself safe.

Not ATC but recently obtained my pilots license at the ripe old age of 41 and trained at the busiest class delta in the US. 30 year old age limit seems pretty restrictive .

"Einstein's Fridge" was great to learn about the history and development of thermodynamics at a fairly high level.

"Good Inside" on becoming a better parent was also great and taught me a lot.

"Every Tool's a Hammer" on becoming a better maker.

"Crafting Interpreters" on learning about and building compilers.

All were really great reads.

Any sources or materials that you know of to learn more about this? Would love to try it out.

I felt similar until I got hit by a car while riding my bike. Now I don't really mind dealing with the helmet at all as I ride around. I also got older, and don't really mind looking "lame" caring a helmet with me.

But why? I know nothing about flatware. What about the history of how it evolved? Why do we have a spoon and a fork instead of a spork? You could learn a lot, perhaps of design, that could help you in a completely unrelated area.

That plus I use my flatware a lot.

Maybe so that you can delete it locally and download it again through Steam (though I could be wrong). In the era of smaller SSDs, I find this very helpful.

It is so complex. I'm blown away daily with the knowledge of the hn community, it runs so deep. And everyone seems like a genius because they only comment seemingly on what they know.

Yet everyone seems to think they know the law. On the surface programming and the law seem so similar, yet they are so disparate. So, so far apart.

Ask an attorney what determinalistic is, and you'll probablly find a blank. Ask a programmer, and they think what is the law is the law if it maybe sort of fits part of what they heard about the law.
