Work hard when you want and build your domains. Don't stress about work, it's not worth stressing. Know your worth and bring that worth to the table when it's time to talk about raises etc.

I've thought the same thing. But software pays well, is fairly chill, and when you contribute to a big project you naturally build a position of value.

AI is just another abstraction. It's not like a senior Java dev can implement LocalDate.now() or CompletableFuture.await()

Important to take certain antioxidants and supplements after. Plus whole good food. Focusing heavily on good sleep and rest (so hard). And doing some level of exercise, but even just starting with walking.

I had a post viral effect after Covid. But maybe 2 months. Then I finally took it easy with working out and it went away.

Really ironically all of life up until 30 is kind of following a general script that's handed to you. And that kind of lets you get out of your own head, in a lot of ways. Then when you're ~30 and you have skills, you have some resources, and you understand pitfalls of life... there isn't much more of a set script left except the wife + kids + white picket fence script. And it takes some effort to figure out how/what your autobiographical script will be. (writing this as a 32 year old who hasn't figured it out)

You're on point. Really if you look at all the religions and creeds that have stood the test of time, they all kind of shift focus away from satisfying your ego so much. It's so easy for the mind to rationalize this or that as a failure, given enough time to neurotically brood. Even if you're actually in a very good spot in life.

When did they say you can't read or watch? The same video producers on Tiktok can move to the multitude of platforms that are allowed. They can produce the exact same stuff.

The ban has nothing to do with the material, it has to do with the platform that is used to distribute and curate it. CCP by controlling the algorithm would allow it to do exactly what you say, at the push of a button.

Your comparison to Putin's Russia falls very short.

What if, by nature, any type of conspiracy information is much better at hitting dopamine centers and attracting viewers than the "real" news can ever be? What if PBS could never come close to what misinformation can do and who it can attract...

So what if a conflict breaks out and the CCP essentially use TikTok as a pathway directly into the brains of millions of Americans. Let's say they tweak the algorithm with a button press to create confusion and public discord when we should be united to protect taiwan.

That's a possible tool of disinformation.

Man sugar hill is such a good spot. I only went there one time for Marcel Dettmann and Patrick Russell but it was sick.

Maybe i need to go to those different outdoor ones

Yeah it's such a sacrifice. Many of the acts come on at 1am earliest, but usually 3am. That's getting home before 6 if you're lucky and then the whole next day is wasted.

It's probably what you've said. I think perception changes, all the different venues and different types of music were once exciting. Then your brain forms the patterns and isn't as excited by x,y and maybe only z elicits a reaction.

Then you become more and more a morning person, so in the evening you aren't even that hyped up and your brain is already trying to call it a night.

For me something like standard 4x4 techno has become so formulaic that it doesnt interest me as much

I'm not sure if stuff changed or maybe i'm just older. A lot of those parties seemed so mysterious and exciting a couple years back for me. Now it seems like the same old stuff month in and month out. Most DJs kind of have their shtick, and there's also this kind of standard left field rave sound that a lot have seemed to adopt. Kind of like the Resolute roster.

it's also very hard for me to rationalize staying up until the main act comes on at 3-5am, getting home at 6am minimum. You waste most or all of the next day.

Tons of people just go and imbibe in various things and just sway to the music or the beat. It really is a blank slate to make it what you want, and i think that's why its popular - many types of people all go to them for many different reasons.

This is it. The phone scrolling has become so addicting that people just go on their phones. And audio quality. You can enjoy the music sometimes at better quality in your own home and scrolling all the same.

Subways are very safe, you obviously don't live or have spent much time in NYC. Millions of people ride them daily. Office workers making $$$, teens, everybody.

Driving is likely less safe. And you still didn't tell me why somebody is driving into Manhattan below 60th st, 5 times a week. To commute? What type of job would it be?

What does free transit do? People need to earn some money and then use that money. It's a healthy psyche. $3 for a ride anywhere in the city is pretty cheap
