I can run the 17b deepseek models (I know, these smaller ones are not actually deepseek) on my old 1080ti gaming desktop with 64 Gb of RAM. Not exactly speedy, but pretty neat nonetheless.

The swiping mechanic is super smooth! I often find that website based swiping UIs are either too sensitive, not sensitive enough, or have weird acceleration. Not the case here.

Fully agree, especially for a laptop. A password that combines three unrelated words and a few numbers takes about 3 seconds to type in.

Mustangs have a 4 second 0-60 and great handling (if you know what you're doing, they rival cars 3X the price on the famous tracks of the world).

Don't really get the comparison to a used EV - I guess you're right about straight line speed, but a used EV is pretty sketchy due to battery longevity and crappy reliability from the brands that can actually achieve this straight line speed.

For someone buying new, there isn't much left with comparable performance, considering the camaro no longer exists. Maybe the Nissan Z or the Supra, but those have had crazy dealer markups. If you know such a car in the 40-60k range, I'd love to know!

It's interesting because the EV was made fun of relentlessly when it came out, with Ford fans saying that it would be a flop.

Also, I'm biased, but I have to disagree with the "impractical vanity car" part. The current Mustang coupe is super fun to drive and affordable - the trunk is huge and it is quite comfortable for two people (even 3). The coyote v8 is a marvel of engineering - 460 HP with instant torque, but you can get 29 MPG with it on the highway (if you drive calmly). The turbo 4 is even more efficient.

To get anything comparable from European or Japanese coupes, you have to pay twice as much.

I would absolutely love a low tech electric car - like an Elantra hatchback EV. I hate how every EV has to be all touchscreen-based with fancy software that needs to be updated frrquently just to drive.

Pretty cool, but a little on screen pad would be good for mobile users.

I built something just like this, but I found everyone would drop there tracks and never look at anybody else's stuff. I shut it down as it ended up being kidn of pointless.

I haven't had to be an interviewee in 6+ years, but I can understand why people are upset. Competing with other applicants who spend dozens of hours per week memorizing leetcode solutions sounds not fun.

Thanks for checking it out. That behavior is intentional and mirrors apps like Tinder and Bumble. Swiping left means you aren't interested in the profile and won't see it again.

Got a lot of feedback for needing a neutral skip, so that's on my list.

Also considering replacing the swiping UI entirely, as many people here pointed out that it's not really ideal.

Ah, I wasn't aware of the connotation. Luckily, this post is the only place where I've described it in that way.

I didn't want to release the app without proper translations for the target countries. FYI - I haven't yet implemented the feature to toggle off "local-only" artists.

RoomMateMatch, JobMatch, and ToiletPaperMatch are all in the works, I just have to copy paste the repo and find-replace the brand names.

A lot of people have mentioned this, so I'll add the toggle to disable "local artists only" to the top of my TODO. Though I suppose genre filtering would need to be built first, or it would be obnoxious.
