A friend of mine, a dermatologist, told me that LLMs are quite performant for melanoma analysis. Based on their own statistics, LLMs are able to beat humans with ~10 years of experience in the field.

They will never beat the human instinct tho, but they can be great tools sometimes. Unfortunately, LLMs mostly produce garbage.

Really? Lol. If it's true why would you publish it? To ensure Microsoft will patch it up and fuck up your workflow?

It's true and it's their official pricing, so talking about it won't change anything.

People are spending way too much money with Claude Code while they could simply pay for GitHub Copilot and fire up OpenCode to get the same results but way cheaper.

I am not seeing the performance degradation everyone talks about after 50% context window.

I pretty much agree with that. I use long sessions and stopped trying to optimize the context size, the compaction happens but the plan keeps the details and it works for me.

One recommendation to help this tool gain traction: use a black and white terminal for your terminal preview (GIF).

1. It will ease reading. It's currently terrible, you might be used to it but we aren't.

2. It will sharpen the text and make it easier to read since there's less to encode into the GIF format.

Additional recommendations: remove the useless part on the right—I use Arch BTW vibe—and make the font bigger.

I definitely recommend you to read A History of the World in 12 Maps by Jerry Broton. It's very interesting and you learn a lot about our world and its history.

I've never seen this topic so well explained, thank you for sharing!

If I want a dumb phone for my daily needs, I have to keep a smartphone at home to stay in contact with my friends that are using Whatsapp. I don't really feel free here.

I totally agree with you, but asking my friends to move to Telegram isn't easy. And multiplying the channels is a complex thing. Nowadays I have iMessage, Messenger, WhatsApp—I deliberately omit Slack and Discord—and sometimes I wonder "where is the discussion with friend X?"

Notifications aren't the culprit, they're already really limited on my phone.

I also appreciate the fact that I could use a simpler phone that really fits the original need: staying in contact, instead of doom-scrolling.

That's good to know, but you still need a smartphone to handle the connection. Having a dumb phone wouldn't work, if I properly understand how this works.

I've been searching for dumb phones these last weeks to avoid using my phone too much. But it comes with issues:

- my bank requires a smartphone

- whatsapp desktop requires a smartphone too

This smartphone could be an alternative: no videos, you can still use third party applications, perfect for reading.
