Some ideas (take it with a grain of salt)

1) You should have a rating system for experts and award different level of badges and users should write reviews also experts with high scores should have a higher pay rate

2) interviewing experts is not going to scale not only you will not have the time but you also need internal experts to interview the Become an expert" applicants (you need some fast vetting process or rely on the rating system)

3) You should collect data from StackOverFlow and other sites and see which questions novice folks are having a hard time getting answers to and try to get experts on those topics (this could become your competitive advantage)

4) You can scale this to businesses - they would certainly appreciate the on-demand help aspect of this thing. Businesses specially small ones may have support account subscriptions with vendors like Red Hat, IBM, etc...which can be costly for them. If your experts are reliable they would rather pay you only when they need help instead of paying the vendors monthly/yearly.

5) As your experts are working the problems you should keep a very organized knowledge base of the issue and resolution (maybe you can monetize this data later on or it maybe useful somehow)

I think the system of rebalancing is a small factor, the major factor being a fiscal policy instated by the federal government on state spending...there needs to be a similar central entity in the Eurozone to implement not just momentary policy but also fiscal policy...but we all know this idea is unpopular

i agree with you but you shouldn't wait for these ideas to come by out the blue moon, you should be constantly searching, trying/testing, and keep living/experiencing a lot of different things...because there are a lot of problems out there that you DO NOT know they exist, and how would you know you care about these problems if you don't know they exist.

this is not real time...it just pulls a whole bunch of data at once and makes it look like real time with the animations...it is actually animating the same data on page refresh and displaying them randomly to simulate real time...idk how often it's updated though....

It is a support services company. I am still not sure why a company would pay just based on years of experience as opposed to performance, but thanks for your input.

Not sure about GlassDoor but according to salary.com and payscale.com and a search on "Software Developer III" or "Software Developer IV" (titles that closely match my job description) the median salary for NoVa is believe it or not, around 100k. Even a search for "Software Developer II" comes up to be around 85K. I think the problem here is that I have few years of experience (2 years) but my job description matches more of SDIII or SDIV which is about 5-10 years of experience. But I don't trust the accuracy of these sites hence why I created this post so i can get answers from real people. I appreciate your input.

Thanks for your input. Yes but are you implying that i tell my boss that another employer is willing to higher me for X amount? I feel a little uncomfortable taking that approach.
