I use an iPad Mini 5 with the Zagg Rugged Keyboard case, which essentially turns it into a small, iOS-based ToughBook-alike.
It runs all my iOS apps locally, & I use the WiFi or LTE to ssh or vnc into remote VMs or a local Raspberry Pi to run *NIXy things. The keyboard is great; I can manage ~60wpm or so on it, down from ~90wpm on a MacBook Pro.
How/where can I learn more about your laptops?
The Nuraphones are better than the Sonys and the Boses.

They all sound better, on average, than any Bluetooth
No, they don't.
They may sound better than cheap Bluetooth headsets.
But I guarantee they don't sound better than my Nuraphones, or the Sennheiser Momentum 2 Wireless/HD-1s I was using beforehand.
Note that I own both Shure 535s and 846s, as well. The Nuraphone sounds better than either of them.
I use my Nuraphones for business con-calls every day. They sound great on my end and I've been told they sound great on the other end(s) of those calls, as well. Same with the Sennheisers.

My Nuraphones sound great, as did my Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 2/HD-1 Wireless Bluetooth headphones before them. No static whatsoever.
Just because you're too cheap to pony up for decent Bluetooth headphones doesn't mean the rest of us are.
Why use the in-flight entertainment system when you can bring your own entertainment on your phone or tablet?

Second the Vernor Vinge recommendations, and the Neal Stephenson and William Gibson Sprawl Trilogy recommendations.
Gibson's The Peripheral, as well as Pattern Recognition, Zero History, and Spook Country all apply, as well. Same for his Idoru, Virtual Light, and All Tomorrow's Parties.
Finally, Gibson and Sterling's The Difference Engine - the first and, so far, best steampunk novel - also qualifies, given the storyline.

Note that this and the Alvarez asteroid hypothesis aren't mutually-exclusive; a significant impact event could in fact trigger vulcanism on a massive scale.
There's plenty of evidence that the K-T impactor was real and slammed into the Earth. It alone might've caused the massive die-offs, or it might've triggered vulcanism and/or venting of poisonous gas deposits from beneath the seabed.

The Expanse is a garbage TV series which totally and completely diverges from the novels - for no good reason, since it's a miniseries, with plenty of time to do justice to the books.
It's depressing how many people here either haven't read the books or somehow think this dreck is superior to the books.
. . . so, you either leave your laptop at home (assuming you've a sufficient degree of certainty it won't be hacked there) or you keep it with you at all times, with all wireless technologies disabled.
With regards to my checked luggage - no electronics there - when traveling to/from/in the US, I always save those 'Inspected by TSA' placards, and place one prominently atop my clothes prior to closing and locking my bag.
Based on various physical telltales I utilize, the success rate of placing a used 'Inspected by TSA' placard in one's bag to deter searches is 100%, at least in my experience.
Since I started doing this, I haven't received any new 'Inspected by TSA' placards, either. So, that's another indicator of the technique's probable success rate.

My iPhone 7 Plus is great, but my iPad Mini with the Zagg keyboard case is fabulous as a portable device for writing, remote access, etc. I'll really be disappointed if Apple cancel it.
I have and enjoy a Switch.
I also have and enjoy the MFi GameVice for my iPad Mini 4. It works quite well.

Um, Israel has yuge political influence in the US - successful secular Jews in the financial and entertainment fields donate large amounts of money to politicians. Their political sentiments are overwhelmingly Democrat, but they donate to Republicans, as well.

My girlfriend loves her Airpods, too. First Bluetooth headphones she's been willing to put up with, heh - because they just work.
Sennheiser Momentum 2 Wireless ANC is far superior to Bose.
You can search Amazon for these soft latex things which help keep Airpods in place.
