I'm not going to defend Microsoft here, but the title (at the source blog) is misleading and a bit rage-baity. What happened with Cowork may have been rushed, possibly due to incompetence, but incompetence is not malice. This framing is also recycled across a few of the author's other interesting findings.
Within the article, the wording is much more accurate: “The victim uploads a skill file to Copilot Cowork that contains a prompt injection,” and “The injection manipulates Microsoft Copilot Cowork into posting a Teams message that exfiltrates pre-authenticated file download links when viewed.”
Shame about the screenshotting feature - it doesn't afford the ability for a more interactive site to really showcase itself.

Reminds me of my first linux distro called damnsmall linux. I think this was used as a first attempt to port linux to the gamecube, but the main team driving the effort ended up going with Gentoo instead.

Though it may seem comparably ridiculous that 700MB is small in 2024 when DSL was 50MB in 2002, I’ve done a lot of hunting to find small footprint applications, and I had to do some tricks to get a workable desktop into the 700MB limit. To get the size down the ISO currently reduced full language support for German, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese (de_DE, en_AU, en_GB, en_US, es_ES, fr_FR, es_ES, pt_PT, & pt_BR ). I had to strip the source codes, many man pages, and documentation out. I do provide a download script that will restore all the missing files, and so far, it seems to be working well.
On the iPhone, you can hide or remove every app aside from settings, safari, sms, phone, App Store, photos, and camera. I started there, and put phone on silent, and in greyscale.

There is no configuration that meets both high-quality local LLM performance and excellent portability. A robust discrete GPU in a thin, portable laptop does not offer enough memory bandwidth or thermals for full-scale models, and a laptop with abundant DDR5 memory and high-end CPU power isn’t designed for the throughput that local LLM inference demands. The practical solution is to use a Linux laptop optimized for everyday development and use hosted LLM services when you need more power.

I work at the Government Contracting arm of Accenture called Accenture Federal and it is by far the best place I've ever worked ( I worked in submarines for a decade so probably nowhere to go but up from there). It ranks highly in those marketing pieces "best places to work" if you're into that sort of thing.
