I use it all the time because I switch between a lot of different cars a lot, and my memory is not that great.
nonexistent
But wouldn't they tell them why then?
On fastish home network (~300 Mbps) with middle-age MacBook Pro (2020), it's wonderfully snappy, not sluggish at all.
That tweet, plus the fact that vibe is a hot word these days. I think of vibe shift (here's the source: https://www.thecut.com/2022/02/a-vibe-shift-is-coming.html)
I just got an MRI. No warning about dangers of having any metal in the room was mentioned verbally. Was asked if I had any metal in my body, not told why. I just said no to that question. That was it.
gross
It's mostly not working for me. Seems to sync from my local computer up to the server, but cannot log in on website or create Dropbox links. I see it's listed as down on the status page as well.
Digital controls? Hell no. Just say no.
What are modern alternatives that are less old, slow, and clunky?
You left for work at 6:30 am to arrive at work 2.5 hours later at 9 am?
So they left you believing take the voucher or get nothing?
What's the recommended alternative for mere mortal hackers?
Lack of serpentine queues for checkout. It's unfair and infuriating.
Informal du is used in German to talk to God. Same in Yiddish, which uses דו.
Since there are Fastmail people here, I'll say the web app's search is slowly improving, but it leaves a lot be desired. For example, it is stupid around interpreting time intervals for search. E.g.,
You can ask it to Search "between" times.
If you give it __Jan__ and __Feb__, of course, you expect it to include everything between Jan 1 and Feb 28 (if it's not a leap year) or Feb 29 (if it is a leap year). What does it do?
after:2023-01-01 before:2023-02-02
Sad.
I miss it. I would love to have it back. Guess I'm a minority.
"Close you the door" sounds completely ungrammatical to me. Is it or was it ever considered grammatical in modern English?
Makes me want to stay there
Why no Mac version?
Weren't your customers annoyed?
They got big during COVID days for being more "touchless"
A ton. My most common workflow is command+4 on Mac, then select rectangle to capture, then reveal in finder, then rename the image file name to something meaningful. Wish I had a faster workflow for this.
Sounds like maybe how Skype got completely wrecked
That's ridiculously complex. Plus you cannot use the same gesture on your other computers, or those of your friend, coworker, family members, etc., without repeating same complex setup.
I could not figure out how much one .com domain costs. Fail
What you describe around audio
mute the audio by default, stream the video on mobile data anyway, and then unmute the video as soon as the user clicks anywhere
sounds like exactly like how Instagram app works.
Last week, the Internet blew up with the seemingly outrageous news that Musk fired a "senior engineer" over his saying that Musk's low view count was NOT due to anything wrong technically with Twitter, implying Twitter users just weren't all that interested in Musk. Here's that story: https://www.platformer.news/p/elon-musk-fires-a-top-twitter-...
So yesterday/today Musk is tweeting that Twitter Engineering is finding and addressing problems affecting view count.
So was Musk basically right technically and the Sr Engr wrong? Not at all saying it was right to fire the engineer on the spot or any of the outrageous behavior Musk reportedly exhibited around this technical issue, just the technical issue itself.
Seen it all over, always assumed it was mistakes in software design or product management by the restaurant software developers.
