I also have a 20+ year old Montauk. I had the cushions replaced a couple of years ago because they don't offer a restuffing service. Not cheap, but should keep me going for another 20 years.

None of those definitions fit the original blog post. It's not satirical or ironic, it's not aggressive, it's not trolling, it's not off-topic, it's not even a "comment". It's not poor quality (imo). It's an opinion piece.

My definition was from urban dictionary btw, the first entry, maybe it sorts differently for different people.

1. (noun) any content on the internet whose humor derives from its surreal nature and/or its lack of clear context. Differs from a meme: whereas a meme's humor comes from its repeatability, a shitpost is funny simply because it isn't a predictable repetition of an existing form. Shitposts can become memes, but memes cannot become shitposts. 2. (verb) to create such a post

There are diminishing returns at a certain point though, the crowd gets so large that utility stops increasing.

I want to interact with experts in subjects I'm interested in, the occasional media figure, and some brands. Sadly brands are lacking, but I get enough of the rest on Mastodon to keep me happy.

It's a shame Patrick Rothfuss isn't on Mastodon, but John Scalzi is, so that's cool.

I don't think the UK pasteurizes their milk to the same degree as North America. When I lived in the UK a pint of milk would last a week or so at most, but here in Canada it can last a month.

Not sure if you're being deliberately obtuse or not, but here's my comparison:

"Complicated electronics" on a car are designed (usually) to make it safer. If those complicated electronics go wrong, it can cause injury or death.

"Complicated electronics" on this gun are designed to make it safer. If those complicated electronics go wrong, it can cause injury or death.

So if you won't use a gun because it has "complicated electronics" you shouldn't drive a modern car either.
