If you think about it you can probably come up with 10 points that you can use over and over again in different situations. Write them down, then do a second draft and then a third. Memorize them and then start using them during conversation. Your presentation and flow will improve when you are not searching for one word out of a possible four different languages.
Do it, take the startup job. No downside. If it all goes tits up you will now have lead technology operations on your resume so your next corporate job will be a jump up.
Thank you! It was an associate, quick call, stuck to strong growth narrative and kept it casual. Seemed to go well but who knows.
Awesome, thank you!
boycott it, don't pay attention to it. Don't watch it, read it, delete facebook and even twitter. There is zero need for it. The important stuff will bubble up and be more prominent. I haven't looked at a news site in over two years and I've never been more informed about real issues.
Meditate each morning and afternoon. That will help an immeasurable amount. Headspace is a good app for that but I prefer TM. Also, take a hit or two of weed then netflix and chill. The weed won't give you a hangover like booze does and you'll be super productive with energy the next morning after you meditate.
Thank you!
Thanks, I will.
Carta charges $2k for up to ten people for one year. That includes the 409a valuation plus a bunch of other reporting and management features. Does that sound like a good price to you?
I would not be where I am today if he wasn't a part of this. What would I do if I lost him? Answer is I don't know. The company would not implode and we would keep moving forward but at what cost?????
Talking this out helps. Thanks for the input.
Thanks! I was thinking 5% as well.
What if I said he's asking for 30% equity?
Congratulations Terry and thanks for sharing your story. What kind of ownership split did you do with your post product, post revenue, post funding co-founder?
Ben Huh, Cheezburger Network founder, wrote a great post on how he contemplated suicide after the failure of a startup: http://www.benhuh.com/2011/11/29/when-death-feels-like-a-goo... "It wasn’t until after I seriously contemplated suicide that I was ready to handle a $30 million check. "

LaunchRock is a great landing page tool for testing a startup idea. I think they are a Y Combinator company too.
Please let Stanford win. NYC needs Stanford. Bloomberg is a tech entrepreneur, perhaps he can sway the RFP voting.
I love it, sign me up.
I've got a Galaxy S2 and it looks just as pretty. Only problem is the battery life is just awful. I would recommend iPhone
You have to be South Asian to be a match. Lots of South Asians in South Asia, but not a-lot in the NYC tech community. This is a numbers game.
He's big in the entrepreneur community, started Jelly co-working, is a great mentor to many young entrepreneurs, but more than that he's a really great guy. If your brown and down, donate your marrow.
I hope PG reads this article, my Y Combinator application is in this field.
oDesk works well for this and they have great PM tools baked in. Stay away from firms, only hire freelancers, be quick to fire and quick to giving raises to good developers.
Join NextNY, sign up for the email list, start going to events and start networking. http://nextny.org/
Use Odesk there are some talented developers there. Odesk has great management software for you as well. It's a numbers game, hire 10 ppl, put them all on the same simple task, by morning you will most likely fore 8 of them. Keep doing that until you have a large and reliable stable of developers. Oh and stay away from Indian developers. Sorry if I offend but my real world experience has shown me time and again Indian developers aren't good. Feel free to report me to the anti defamation league and the thought police.

Is one superior to the other, should I spring for both, is Google analytics superior? If you used one or both in the past and have an opinion I would love to hear it.
drink heavily for three weeks while watching lots of TV. At end of third week go to the gym, get on a treadmill and think about what your next business will be. Come up with idea, get off treadmill and run with it.
