I see you have been triggered by this discussion and my apologies if I've contributed to it, but you ascribe qualities to me that are not true and I find your discourse unreasonable.

Pointing out the context for an argument and the many articles and discussions that have taken place on that subject in the news is not the same thing as participating in or taking sides in the discussion. I take offense that you have made this personal.

I don't know what an "ethnonationalist" is but it sounds derogatory, and replacing "buddy" with what I assume is an even worse insult is not helping the discourse here.

I do not live in Sweden, but the gang violence and problems reported there are in the news and I read about it frequently. The was the point of my original post, which is that there is a context to this discussion that many probably aren't getting because they have no direct links to the society there. I think some of the other comments in this thread do a better job of underscoring this point than I am.

Sorry but this is a ridiculous request for something that has been so widely reported on over the last two years. You can search for all those news articles if you are interested. For something like this, there is no burden for me to prove anything to you.

First, I’m not your buddy, and that kind of condescending language doesn’t really help the discussion. Second, I assumed these issues were common knowledge since the frequent shootings in broad daylight that have rocked Sweden in the last couple of years have been from immigrant gang violence, and I mistakenly assumed everyone was aware of these news reports. But perhaps it’s only most obvious here in Europe.

Well I remember the days before the first smart phone and taking subways in New York City, so it’s not too hard for me to imagine. People reading books, talking to each other, very different.

That would be promising if it wasn’t for a ridiculous price tag. You shouldn’t have to pay a premium just to have features removed. The margin on that phone must be incredibly high.

I would love to get rid of my smartphone altogether, actually. I’m just not quite sure how to do it. I need to use a map app often. And most of the announcements and services in my country from companies and schools are all handled through WhatsApp. So it makes it a bit difficult to cut that tether.

I have to agree that the amount of pollution these things put out is really a dealbreaker in modern times, in my opinion. They really smell up a street when they go by, it’s so noticeable after having mainly electric cars and bicycles going by.

Unless I misunderstood your question, are you simply trying to use emacs bindings in all text areas of the browser like the URL bar, any text fields on webpages, being able to move to the beginning or the end of a line, backspace, etc., go to the next or previous line, all with emacs bindings? That has worked for decades on Mac and it works for me now in all browsers.

Firefox emacs bindings still work on Mac since everywhere on macOS supports emacs bindings, nearly.
