My build pipelines have been failing the last 7 hours because of this.. Amazing that it's still green on the status page. Twitter reports a lot of affected users as well.

For me it's not about the playback. It's about curated playlist, suggestion and discovery.

And especially Spotify does this extremely well.

Ha! This explains why I always get "cookieandkate.com" suggested when I want to visit another site that starts with "cookie". I was extremely frustrated that it suggested that site with higher priotity than the one I actually visit mostly every day. And I had never myself gone to that site.

Now I know why...

1Password for Android have 0 trackers. And 1/3 of the permissions needed.

I use Pocket and tags in there. Also downloads the sites for offline / persistent storage.

I have been really satisfied with Infuse on the AppleTV. It does the same thing as VLC, but in a way more polished, Apple-like way.

If you run things in cloud it makes sense to benchmark that?

Many institutions and hospitals still use XP. And they pay Microsoft a lot to support it.

I use it everyday (never have my physical cards with me anymore). Everywhere you can pay with contactless credit cards, you can pay with Apple Pay.

I felt the same way after CS, and then working a year as software engineer. And I think it's because of two reasons:

1) I never loved coding (even though I thought so). I loved the process of finding solutions for problems, and solve them. But coding was not the deciding factor in this. The research, investigate what should be done, speaking with customers etc. _This_ I loved. But I did not love coding. All those problems, debugging of code that does not work etc. I'll compare it to an architect drawing the buildings, making sure that they live up to the requirements ("solutioning"). But the architect is not building the building (coding).

2) What I loved about coding in those 10-15 years I was a hobby-programmer before CS, I was working on small, fun projects. They were quick to get working, and then I was quickly moving to the next thing. And I think that is a problem when working as a professional. You get sucked into large projects that (seemingly) never ends. And that's not the spirit you had in the beginning.

Have you tried going to hackathons? I can really recommend it! Having a weekend where you hack with other hackers and do some coding is a really nice way of working, and can get you the spirit back!

I tried the Impossible Burger 1.0 at Stanford, and it tasted really good! Not a 100% like meat, but good as an alternative. Looking forward to trying the new one.

Andrew Ng's courses on Coursera (Machine Learning) are the best ones IMO. Gives you the introductions to the math behind and some practice.

You can build and set up a Hackintosh in a day og you just follow Tonymacx86’s guide. It has a list og builds with working components. Just buy them, set it up, install Mac OS and it just works.

The thing I'm really looking forward to with Face ID is when apps are using it. Fine for unlocking the phone, but think about it.

Right now, if you access your bank, Dropbox, 1Password etc. you open the app, wait for the Touch ID dialog to appear, then move your finger from the screen (where it was) and to the Touch ID to authorize.

With Face ID; just open the app, and you're authorized. This is a HUGE thing in regards of usability.
