There have been some good alternatives mentioned in the comments here, like Affinity or Photopea.

Does anyone happen to know if there is a similarly good alternative to Lightroom?

Unfortunately, I think we all know how this story ends.

The company will settle for a slap on the wrist, a paltry fine that is but a fraction of the profit that was made as a result of the infraction.

The company will not admit to any wrongdoing as a result of the settlement.

The company will continue their behavior but in a stealthier, more obfuscated fashion.

Fair point.

There is diminishing importance of ownership as time passes though because there is less and less desire to own such assets as they get older and newer titles come out.

There are exceptions to the rule, but I'd imagine less than 1% of the population cares about owning/emulating PS3 or even PS4 games at this point.

So yes, there is an eventual vector for "ownership" (though illicit, at least in this hypothetical) but I doubt that moves the needle much if at all.

I don't think it's really helpful (nor possible) to get into this level of specificity.

Generally, just apply sunscreen and limit prolonged sun exposure when possible (particularly when UV index is high).

Avoiding sunburns (i.e. prolonged sun exposure, particularly when skin is unprotected) is probably the main thing to focus on as I believe studies have shown there is a high correlation between getting burnt and developing skin cancer.

Because while you may be a good actor, there are just as many bad actors out there.

How does Anthropic or OpenAI differentiate between the two?

Once you solve that, you can get access to Mythos ;)

Anecdotally I've seen the latter to be true and have had third-party recruiters echo that familiarity with AI use in coding has become a pivotal part of job interviews with startups.

That being said, I'm not sure how much job security having such prowess would convey because I feel AI will be better than us at that too eventually (if not already).

Back in December 2020, Hyundai purchased an 80% controlling interest in Boston Dynamics from SoftBank for $880 million, part of a transaction that valued the robotics company at $1.1 billion. That agreement included a put option allowing SoftBank to sell its remaining stake to Hyundai at a later date.

SoftBank has now exercised that option.

This is true, but it also assumes continued investment and steady progress.

We had been making some headway in terms of clean energy before the current administration started undoing a lot of that progress. And there is no telling what the next administration will do.

Pregnant person can do whatever they want with their body.

Yes, they can. But whatever they are doing to their body, they are doing to their baby as well.

Can they drink and smoke while they are pregnant? Sure, it is their choice.

Should they? Perhaps not, if they care about the welfare of the little human that is growing inside of them.
