Holy cow. Wow. This image really opened my eyes to the design world. I’m just personally wondering whatever happened with “an eye for design” and intuition.
It’s not just about AlbinoBlacksheep and NewGrounds. Flash was the most consequential technology on the web’s frontend prior to and even after html5. It was enabled on a staggering 98% of web browsers. So much so it was basically synonymous with web browsing. You can trace the trail of flash to the invention and adoption of social media. There would be no MySpace, no YouTube and Meebo. The internet would have had a completely different story.
It’s an odd thing but the way I work on projects is I acquire a high quality domain name upfront and then work on whatever the domain name is. The interestingness of the domain focuses me to produce quality work so as to live up to the domain name. I can’t do this with every domain I own but I’ve done this with more then a handful.
This. When an extension is installed the privacy sandbox is removed. Google manually audits each extensions code and looks out for bad behavior. You cannot call out to external scripts or use mangled source code.

Browsing 1992 through 1995 gave me tears. Btw, where is Vista, ME, or Windows 98, or 7 for that matter? Vista had an especially unique UI with Aero and Windows 7 was an adaptation of that I believe.
I don’t know about terminals but having live reload on multiple monitors is a god send for frontend developer productivity. You’re experimenting most of the time.

Technologically, social media could have come a decade before it was made popular. Similarly for AR (agreed) I don’t believe there is a technological hurdle here. There will be some magic app or use case that will get everyone to jump onboard, maybe like how everyone jumped on the iPod. It wasn’t about the device even though it was impeccable.
But maybe the world just needs (wants) light weight “They Live” sunglasses creepy that meta might be the company that actually makes it real.
I’ve built something different that I blog about with a show and tell. I love my product but the weird thing is dev.to the perfect portal to blog about such things is shadowbanned on HN.
This is a very important feature. It’s not enough to have the user add more text to the box. I’m on mobile and it’s hard. There should be a toggle on every page prominently displayed that allows you to filter by programming language. Its the reason I came here to comment after trying to make it useful for me. I actually really like this!
I’ve thought about this. It’s at best passive aggressive. Definitely don’t do it. Among the innovative interview techniques I have yet to see is one where the interviewee is allowed to customize the process. If you have projects you can showcase let’s see them, if not take this test. Seems simple but alien to anyone I’ve mentioned this too.
Is this purely for analytics and listening for events? I would like the opposite, walking through an event list to mechanize UI on the frontend without an extension or from node (just via a front-end script tag). I bookmarked something like this once.
