This reminds me a lot of using the 3d printer exclusively to improve the quality or speed of your 3d prints
I love this thing and I use it a lot more than my kindle and my kobo (with koreader). I really like the form factor and the fact that goes out of sleep almost instantly and goes to sleep equally as fast. It seeps battery. It is perfect the way it is.
Paypay works as well (at least in Germany)
In Germany, Paypal uses NFC payments. It works on GrapheneOS

If MCP gets used this way I see big trouble when people hardcode stuff and then the provider updates the endpoints. MCP does not have versions as the list-tools is a living document, you are supposed to fetch and read the current version. AI would be totally fine with it because it would be able to reason the change and adapt, but the hardcoded app is going to break badly.
Indeed I have a ploopy 1 on the drawer because it gives me strong RSI on the thumb.
Great breakdown!. The "own your own AI" at home is a terrific hobby if you like to tinker, but you are going to spend a ton of time and money on hardware that will be underutilized most of the time. If you want to go nuts check out Mitko Vasilev's dream machine. It makes no sense if you don't have a very clear use case that only requires small models or really slow token generation speeds.
If the goal however is not to tinker but to really build and learn AI, it is going to be financially better to rent those GPUs/TPUs as needs arise.
It all depends of your location and the filament. I had PLA from 2018 that printed flawlessly last year and I had new, sealed PLA and PTEG spools that were brittle or printed a stringy mess unless they spent a night on the drier. The problem comes because there are so much variety and no way to know for the consumer what the composition of each filament is. It does not seem to have much to do with price. This inconsistency across manufacturers, filament types, colors and batches is why people have favorite brands they stick with to minimize the risk.
I have Bambu, Qidi and Creality printers. Qidi is a good compromise between open and 'print-quality-out-of-the-box'. My Q1 pro is easy to hack, but I have not done anything to it because it prints pretty much as well as Bambu.
It seems to be an elusive fruit in America. It is however a very common fruit in Spain (Chirimoya) and you will find it in all supermarkets - it is not particularly expensive. Orchards are in southern Spain and canary islands.
My solution: Debian + Flatpak for the few applications you need at the latest version
My Paperless-ngx listening on a network share + brother ADS-2800W are key to stay sane. My only complain is that it is resource hungry. If I allocate less than 2G RAM to the paperless VM it does not work as it should.
For my LG monitor also do an EDID-hack. If I use it with DP it works fine but with HDMI it gets super bright and high contrast. In windows it works fine.

For family photos shared on the LAN I use https://github.com/bpatrik/pigallery2 It is simple and FAST. I do the face recognition on Digikam.
Years using the trackpoint gave me carpal tunnel. Try not to use it exclusively.

Taskwarrior on desktop / Termux+Taskwarrior on android keeps my life sane. At this point it is an almost perfect piece of software that needs just maintenance but no extra features.
I have one of the original right hand Ploopy trackballs.
- It comes in a kit and as you need to assemble it, you feel emotionally attached to it
- The designer (Colin) probably has big hands. I have a small hand and it doesn't fit right.
- The 3d printed texture is great.
- The ball doesn't 'flow'. It doesn't keep momentum. You apply a strong movement and it spins dead within the second.
- I absolutely love it is open source, but there is not much of a community around it, probably because the barriers of entry are quite high. I never found the time to hack it myself.
- It tracks the movement extremely well. Accuracy, precision are awesome. Better than any other trackball I have (and I have MANY). On par with the logitech mx master.
- The position of the thumb wheel is not good for my hand. After months of use it started giving me RSI. And now everytime I use it, I notice within the hour that something is not right.
My perfect trackball would be the ploopy:
- With a smaller body for small hands
- With momentum in the scroll wheel ALA logitech mice
- With a different position for the scroll wheel
"> flameshot gui" is awesome, one of the most useful tools I use and a terrific replacement for shutter||xclip. I recommend "> peek" to capture gifs.
I cannot believe nobody has said "I'm still using them" yet. I have two of them still happily moving packets the same they did back in mid 2000.
Strategy: "use couple of years old Thinkpad". Tons of linux devs use thinkpads and a couple of years are needed for all userland / driver patches to land at your favorite distro. It worked so far for me with the x40, x230 & t470s.
What book should I read to be able to understand this text? No papers please. I don't understand what scaling a model means.
I use a split keyboard[1], with a trackball[2] in between the keyboards. I like to spend a few hours in the morning standing, and when I finally get tired, I adjust the desk all the way down. All fixed desks are way too tall for me (1.67cm). Remove the armrests - your hands should be floating over the keyboard. I use xwrits with 1minute pause every 25 minutes: enough time to focus your eyeballs out of the screen and move the hands a little bit to prevent RSI.
