Pixel 10 Phones 11 months ago

I really wish Pixel phones went with a more capable Snapdragon Elite 2 or Dimensity 9500 along with UFS 4.1, instead of sticking to their cost-cutting Tensor strategy. From past Pixels, on-device features like Magic Editor have been painfully slow compared to the same tools running on other Android flagships.

One problem with extending life of your phone with lineageOS is trouble using banking apps on a rooted device. If you are lucky you could get it working with Magisk/Shamiko or similar but sometimes there will be some stubborn apps

Google Pixel 9 Pro 2 years ago

Same for me, I feel all those AI assistants are most of the time hit or miss (even though they improved very much in the recent times) + UX is most of the time not that good because of the network latency.

But on the positive side i like the new 9 pro because of its smaller size + hardware improvements (better ultrawide, ultra sonic finger print sensor, 16GB RAM...)

As a pixel user I'm really impressed with their cleanup tool, it looks way ahead in UX compared to magic editor on pixel, also having able to select the distractions without altering the main object looks really cool (at least in their demo), magic editor on pixel's underpowered SoC runs too slow, In general iphones have superior hardware vs pixel (as per the benchmarks) so having this on-device should make it really nice experience overall.

For me i've felt Samsung flagships have the best hardware, OneUI is very good compared those TouchWiz days. Then you have these bloatwares, first thing i do after getting any Samsung phone is doing `pm uninstall –k ––user 0 <bloatware.apps>` the linked tool does the same in a more user friendly way. One thing which that still blocks is i see you can't still remove some things like samsung account stuff, knox related stuff..etc, unless you flash a custom rom.

Google is similar to a person with ADHD when it comes to hardware and services, they are not going to be with it for very long while jumping to make another.

I don't think so, i've used PHP at work for more than 10 years till 7.4 point mostly Symfony, it has it's own quirks but i still feel PHP really pragmatic. I don't have any strong feelings against it.

Nowadays im on django/python because im in a python shop and I like python too.

In kerala, India too we have so many varities of bananas Robusta, Palayankodan, Poovan, Njalipoovan, Kadali, Chenkadali, Karpooravally, Poomkalli, Koompillakannan, Chinali, Virupakshi, Plantain to name few.

And in Europe i see everywhere only cavendishes or plantains unfortunately

I think sony xperia 5 iii is the closest you can get, may be a tad big 6.1", but it has everything flagship snapdragon, stockish android, 5G, 8/128 GB, NFC, 3 rear cameras, IP68, Fingerprint sensor on power button, big 4500mah battery with added on goodies like sd card, 3.5mm jack

only manufacturer who makes phones with both wireless charging and a headphone jack

May be the you should mention "flagship" because there are many android mid-rangers with both headphone jack and wireless charging, but this too is not true because sony's flagship xperia 1 mark 2 still have both headphone jack and wireless charging + sd card support that the others have abandoned.

Ignore AMP 6 years ago

One thing i find irritating about AMP pages is that, even Google chrome's page translation feature doesn't work unless you navigate to the non-AMP page

In India i had a BSNL prepaid plan for 2€ a month for 2GB 4G data "per day" which worked fast even in the rural villages there. But in Germany with O2 I get 2GB 4G data for 10€ a month which goes "No Service" or switches to Edge many times if i goes out of the city.

The whole java/kotlin (jvm/dvm experience) is a big turn off. I really wish for go/swift first-class android development experience.

I feel firefox on android in many ways far more better than chrome (especially the UX and addons), the only thing preventing me to make it my default browser is the built in page translation of chrome, for me its a must have since i live in a foreign country.

There is only so much willpower you can tap into. Once that is over you basically drift not being able to do anything. It is much better to live a balanced life and never put yourself into impossible workloads for a prolonged time.

I am a victim of this, Because of the competitive nature of things in my part of the world, I had to skip the extra curricular activities and dedicate all my free time (4-5 hrs a day) for studies and I am completely out of balance now. It's very difficult for me to find a balance or enjoy the activities now.

Really? What's your point? We are talking about the meaning of the word immigrants. Not racism.

Yes, it is. I was just adding not everyone knows this definition

Not according to people like you. We are all immigrants. Right? Natives came from asia so they are immigrants too. Using your definition.

Nope, They were the first settlers in those area just like first settlers in Europe, Africa or Asia some 30-40k years ago before they were invaded recently in 15th century and the migration wave started and guys came in 500 years back calling the current bunch immigrants

Did I say "cool" things? My point is that it is the opposite of "cool". My point is that there is a difference between immigrating and invading. Invading/colonizing/settling = bad. It is not immigrating.

So for example, if now Germany attack Ethiopia, kill those people there are. After 500 years if the native Ethiopeans become 2% who according to you is Ethiopean?
