I did comparison of Fastmail, Protonmail and Mailfence. Finally, I decided to go ahead with Mailfence due to their end-to-end encryption and stronger privacy focus. I am very happy with Mailfence so far.

uday@hey.com Looking for Ruby on rails mentor.
I used to have 34 penfriends when I was in high school. I got all these pen pals from organisation called "International Youth Service (IYS)" based in Turku, Finland. Eventually I lost touch with my penfriends when I moved due to education, jobs etc.
My very first penfriend was Betty Marie Jensen from a small place called Nibe, Denmark. I tried to find her on the internet, sent a letter to her old address. No luck. All I know is her name, old address and birthdate. I have her photos, but I don't want to publish them on the internet for her privacy. Is there any government agency besides postal service who can forward my letter to her?
Recently, I tried to revive this hobby. Unfortunately, IYS is closed now. I found a few good penpals on GlobalPenfriends.com Also tried several other websites like Interpals, Penpal World etc. but they are full of scammers.
uBlock origin does not accept donations. I would have loved to donate to them, but they don't.
Other thing I have started doing is to stop doing any upgrade for things that are already working locally. Example: no more upgrades for HP printer software.
I tend to agree with the sentiment. The only reason I subscribed to ProjectionLab was to appreciate the hard work of Kyle. Otherwise, "New Retirement" (now called Boldin) serves my purpose. It provides similar features and it provides automatic updates too.
This is really fun. My score was 4307 (top 12%) with average 5.8 years off.
This reminded me the commercial "I am not a lawyer, but I did stay at Holiday Inn last night".
You may win the judgement in small claims court, but how will you collect? That is another dilemma.
I have a basic question somewhat related to this topic. When I am using Mullvad VPN, many websites block access. (E.g. Lowe's or Michaels.com etc). They force me to disable VPN and I don't like it.
My question is how do they detect that I am using a VPN and is there any workaround to access their site when I continue using VPN?
Thank you for the wonderful tip. I am going to order these coins to handover to kids for Halloween. I am sure that they will love this unusual gift.
Thank you for your reply. I tried several options and finally found a setting.
I changed the setting for widget.non-native-theme.scrollbar.size.override from 1 to 50 and it increased size.
The initial value of 1 was confusing me because I kept thinking it is Boolean 1.
Posting a solution here in case someone else finds it useful.
Honest question: Can you tell me how to increase the scrollbar size of Firefox browser on a Pop!_OS operating system?
3% of 1 million is $30,000 not $60,000. Similarly, 3% of 100,000 is $3000 and not $6000.
But I agree with your overall sentiment that the real estate market is a cartel.
Cartel is the correct word. As an individual consumer, I wanted access to MLS data and was willing to pay a monthly access fee. But they wouldn't provide such access and want you to use the cartel member, real estate agent.
Drupal has a steep learning curve. My personal website is on Drupal and now it is a nightmare even to upgrade it. I wouldn't recommend Drupal unless you have technical skills. It is not plug-and-play.
I bought my last 2 laptops from System76 with pre-installed Ubuntu and Pop_OS Linux. I have been very happy with the build quality and their support, so I will recommend them.
Why does it have to be worse, before it gets better?
If the money goes back to my NRE account, then I (as a PAN card holder) can myself have an NRE account, tied to a brokerage firm like Zerodha and I can trade and manage my money there myself much more efficiently and at negligible cost?
What is the value proposition you are offering by charging 1% management fee?
Yes, stock sales by insiders is public information. Just a small correction. Stock sale disclosure is mandated by SEC, not FCC.
I want to learn Ruby on rails. Would you or someone else like to collaborate with me or be my mentor? (I tend to get stuck at times and then lose the momentum).
I am thankful
for politicians, lawyers and tv evangelists because it gives me something to laugh at.
for the significant other who hogs the covers every night, because he/she is not out with someone else.
for the teenager who is not doing dishes but is watching tv, because that means he/she is at home and not on the streets.
for the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed.
for the mess to clean after a party, because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.
for the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat.
for my shadow that watches me work, because it means I am out in the sunshine.
for a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home.
for all the complaining I hear about (legal abortions, the loss of the environment, the inefficient government, greedy corporations, etc.) because it means that we have freedom of speech.
for the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.
for my huge heating or cooling bill, because it means I am comfortable.
for the ugly fat lady behind me in church that sings way off key, because it means that I can hear and see.
for the huge pile of dirty laundry, because it means I have clothes to spare.
for weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I have been capable of working hard.
for the alarm that goes of in the early morning hours, because it means that I am alive.
and finally.......for too much spam and advertising, because it means I have friends, family and spammers/advertisers who are thinking of me.
They are probably your acquaintances (to play boardgames), not real friends.
That's why I don't even use LinkedIn at all.
I would recommend Porkbun.com or Gandi.net I have personally used both, but now moved away from Gandi. (There was billing issue and I was not happy how it was handled.) Anyway, happy with Porkbun. When I tried to register my domain for 10 years, they actually called me to confirm that it was not a mistake on my part. Very pleased with Porkbun support & yes, you can talk to a human.
Although I do not use VPN for any illegal purpose, I pay for it so that 1. My internet provider would not know which sites I am visiting. 2. My sites would not know what is my actual location.
This prevents them from creating my profile and helps me protect my privacy. (I hope so).
I have made a concious decision that I would rather trust a VPN like Mullvad than my internet provider or websites.
Only http://ai (with or without trailing dot) did not work for me using DuckDuckGo browser on Android phone.
I used to have all my domains with Gandi.net One time, they had a billing issue with me. I disputed with my credit card company and got refund. So Gandi.net locked my entire account and none of the sites worked until I paid $10 they charged for disputing "their" billing issue. Only after paying $10 ransom, my account was restored. I promptly moved ALL the domains to porkbun. I also paid for 10 year renewal for my personal website, so someone from porkbun actually called me on the phone to confirm that it was not a mistake on my part and I truly intended to renew my personal website for 10 years. I have been happy with porkbun and would recommend them. Yes, humans at porkbun do manually reply to the emails and answer the phones.
The issue I face is that the TV volume suddenly increases when they start playing advertisements on TV. It is probably done to attract user's attention, but it is very annoying esp. for old people.
I wished that there was some way (maybe an app on the phone) that will automatically control volume level at a set limit. The phones already have a way to measure decibals (sound meter app) and also a way to control audio receiver volume (remote control app). If we could combine these 2 in a single app, that will be great.
I can set the volume level in the app. It will monitor sound level say every 3 seconds. If it exceeds say 10%, then automatically reduce the volume. Someone, please build such an app. I will buy it or consider sponsorship/financial help. The loud commercials are driving me crazy. Thank you for listening to my request.
I agree with your overall sentiment that fighting beurocracy by dumping more paperwork is a good strategy.
However, that should be last resort in my opinion. Based on my experience, people (especially IT staff) are reasonable if you explain the issue nicely. Remember, honey attracts more bees than vinegar.
Instead of asking government to have no-fly list, what doesn't each airline have its own list? They are private businesses and should be able to decide their customers, just like customers can refuse to do business with certain companies.
