I think once the enshittification gets too bad for even the average person, people will look for alternatives, and old style forums will return.
Although with all the ID verification, those forums might end up on Tor or something.

I forget the details but it was some kind of surprisingly weird foot-gun behavior.
Luckily I had a backup, but it really has made me scared to try using parallel again.

The point is that AMD is executing code based on checking using an algorithm that has barely any protection from malicious inputs, which is stupid, and not fixing it just compounds that stupidity.
A cryptographic signature protects against both noise and malicious inputs.
