In simple terms, colonial hangover is still there despite countless discourses over racism. Anyway, enjoy reading Prof. Raju. He has dobe a conference on the issue of Academic Imperialism, which is worth a watch on youtube.

My favorite talk by him is on Calendars.

A Tale of Two Calendars - Dr C K Raju

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvpuC7Dg4e0

It is rather unfortunate, and certainly extends beyond the realm of science.

yes, euro-centric biases extend beyond sciences. Here is one take on Kant's humorous belief about us Easterners by a professor from Singapore.

Western philosophy is racist

Academic philosophy in ‘the West’ ignores and disdains the thought traditions of China, India and Africa. This must change

https://aeon.co/essays/why-the-western-philosophical-canon-i...

Eurocentric biases are dominate across various academic disciplines. they either deny the attribution to our culture or call it plain superstitious belief.

then the onus of proof lies with us to prove suśruta was indeed a great surgeon, whereas we never see Europeans giving evidence to establish that Euclid was a real man.

Following book by prof. CK Raju on Euclid is a worthy read for anyone who wish to learn how Academic Imperialism works to perpetuate the aforementioned biases.

I am not sure about airplane, but I have references for discovery gravitational laws in India. These are non-Indian references, so I suppose my point of view will be respected.

Given India school of mathematics already was advanced in trigonometry, calculus & astronomy according to following references:

+ Prior to discovery of infinite series and calculus by Newton and Leibniz, the Kerala School of Mathematics had already developed calculus and some historians suggest that this and advanced astronomical knowledge from Kerala went abroad via the Jesuits and provided the spark for its further development in Europe.

https://press.princeton.edu/titles/9308.html

https://www.telegraphindia.com/india/restoring-indias-calcul...

+ It is very much possbile for Indians to have independently discover law of gravitation. Following paper establishes that Indians knew about Newton 'discovery' by 250 years.

I cannot discount usage/knowledge of Airplane, battery, magnet, electricity, in India, unless it is firmly established they didnt had the technology. I choose to maintain status quo.

Do you think it is fair for a multinational company to ally with an army? What will be the limits? Besides realpolotik, one also has to. answer such questions.

If Google helps Pentagon, then it no moral right to expand in Russia & China (I know about censored google search prpject), unless there are agreements.

I say it again if Silicon valley wants to be called a place where talented individuals of any nationality can stay & work for advancement of technology, then it must not help Pentagon.

Let Pentagon develop its own AI technology.

With the recent uproar inside Google against Maven, it is obvious that Pentagon is going to have difficult time.

Google Won't Renew Contract for Project Maven, Pentagon Drone AI Imaging Program

In my personal opinion, I would never help ANY army in building AI enabled drone, Tanks etc. I am in favor of US making peace & dialog with Russia & China. SILICON VALLEY MUST NOT BECOME PART OF AI ENABLED ARM RACE. If Pentagon has extra money then it can give that to homeless people of its country.

This software is available in 30+ langauge, but not in any Indian langauge. I wonder why developers Ignore translation of softwares in Indian Languages. If dev team is reading this, please contact me. I would translate this software in Hindi language.

Update: I wonder why this comment got downvoted any without explaination. HN is not same, as it used to be.

I deleted my earlier response, because it was not logically ordered for others to make sense. So I rewrote it.

I still dont know if you agree with me on this that Hindus dont have fair representation in english speaking global media or textbooks.

Your answers are factual, and lack psychological dimension. So let me add another question.

From your answers, it appears that it was easier for Krishna to convince Arjuna to kill his brothers & relatives than convincing Duryodhan of giving up five villages. If Krishna was really a god or god like, why/how did he fail to convince Duryodhan for giving up villages? What stoped him for pursuing Duryodhan one more time? Why Krishna's "godly" influence didnt work on Duryodhan? Why was war necessary?

few additions to your answer:

Dharma also means people with character, thats why Yudhisthir is known as Dharmraaj. Its opposite is Adharmi (अधर्मी) which means undisciplined person.

I dont think Dharma yuddha will translate into "Holy war". Dharma also means discipline or law. So Dharma yuddha means a war to bring law on the land. It is similar to how various countries are attempting to bring self-sustaining democracy in Afganistan.

I made a statement saying that I feel that people of my community dont have global voice. It is my perception.

You quoted/misquoted from here or there and proved me sectarian along with saying we forgot our core principle.

Let me start:

Did you hear about this controvercy?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_textbook_controvers...

When I say I am alone, I mean that I dont expect my fair representation in global stage as in the example above.

Looks like you know a bit about Gita. Allow me to ask two simple question?

1. Why did Krishna guide Arjun to kill Kaurawa?

2. Why did Krishna belive that Duryodhan does not deserve power?

If you cannot answer these simple questions, please dont preach me anything about Gita.

I know the cases.

Amla juice controversy arose because food inspector didnt had its ingredient table for Amala juice, so he matched it with Apple Juice ingredient table. Of course, it would not pass the test and the product will be called substandard. There are various such incidences where misinformation campaign on SM created paranoia. Patanjali wanted Amala juice to be passed a ayurvedic medicine, but they insisted on having it as consumer product. But you know Amala juice are again available in cateen stores and the controversy has been resolved.

Please dont fall for one sided story, it would be good to look into official response from the company. Even a judge has to listen to the story of criminal before anouncing final punishment.

There are multiple food labs in country. It can be state or central govt owned. Swamy Ramdev cannot cheat all of them, all the times.

There are food safety institutions to inspect a product of his harm. If Swamy Ramdev is doing anything evil, he cannot get away. There was one incidence when he was selling Gooseberry juice, but a food inspector didnt had its ingredient table, so they matched it with Apple Juice ingredient table. Of course, it would not pass the test. There are various such incidences where misinformation campaign on SM created paranoia.

11 nuclear scientists had unnatural deaths during 2009-13 in the country, latest data provided by Department of Atomic Energy shows.

In one case of Barc, police claims that he committed suicide because of prolonged illness and closed the case while the remaining cases are still under investigation.

Two research fellows at died in a mysterious fire in the chemistry lab of Barc, Trombay in 2010.

A scientist of F-grade was found murdered at his residence in Mumbai. It is suspected that he was strangulated but the murder accused remained untraced till date.

A D-grade scientist at RRCAT also allegedly committed suicide with police closing the case.

Another scientist posted at Kalpakkam allegedly jumped into the sea to end his life in 2013 with the case is still under probe whereas a Mumbai based scientist committed suicide by hanging, with police citing personal reasons for the same.

One scientist allegedly committed suicide by jumping into Kali river in Karwar, Karnataka with police again pointing at personal reasons.

Atomic energy department saw 70 unnatural deaths in eight years

Now compare the noise made in those cases with noise made in following incidents.

Gauri Lankesh Murder:

Of course leftists(Maoists?) are controlling the media narrative in India, otherwise it is just not possible that death of seventy scientists from Bhabha would go unnoticed, whereas deaths which are potential source of political mileage and further polarization in society, will cause international noise.

Assuming NDA government to be pro-Nuclear power, as it was NDA government at the time of PM Vajpai who did Pokhran-II, I am sure that nuclear scientists will be provided critical security.

Here is update:

PS: You should note that now NDA is the ruling coalition instead of UPA since 2014. Situation is much likely to improve because NDA is pro-nuclear, as they did Pokhran-II in 1998.
