So let me get this straight:

- Currently travelers to the US need to give biometric data each time they enter

- New DB connection between EU and US for this purpose

- People will _still_ need to give biometric data each time they enter in order to validate that they carry valid information

Further more, they claim that _the US_ will only request data from travelers. But, my country doesn't know if I travel and where. So the supposed privacy guarantees are empty claims. It's not 2012 anymore. Everyone knows better, as soon as they get access to that DB, they will start working on scraping all data from it.

There is 0 upsides to this.

It turned out that my subscription, which had been going since 2013, was on an “Annual Paid Monthly” plan. Even though I was getting billed monthly, I couldn’t actually cancel any time I wanted.

I've been wondering for a while what happens if you just block the transactions on your credit card. (Can't test it myself because I'm not an adobe customer and never will be)

Oh no, the thief is mad they get "stolen" from? I've had to hard block all of anthropic's scrapers because they seemingly ignore robots.txt and every other unwritten rule about 'polite' webscraping. They were so aggressive that they made up 90+% of our traffic + pulled the website down at times. And that's not even mentioning their other immoral practices + what they are claiming here is questionable at best. Anthropic is _not_ the good guys, they do not get to be upset over this or claim any sort of moral superiority over 'China'.

Can't wait for the new Chinese models.

The issue with those solutions is that it would balloon my app size because I'd need to embed the model, or add a mechanism to download the models afterwards, for something that is essentially a note taking app. But maybe I can make it an option and word it effectively, that is an idea! Your idea for doing a context aware correction pass on STT is very interesting and something I hadn't thought of yet. Thank you for your thoughts!

Can't wait to try it. Made a small log app for my IBS which allows free text input and uses LLM to create JSON. If that could be done on device with a foundation model, it would be awesome. (and also completely bomb my income model)

I am not Meta, neither are you, nor are we doing things on their level. You can just build small things for you and your friends that fits your specific usecase that other tools do not fit yet, it doesn't need to be a world changing idea.

Planning is the same, implementation time is just way shorter, so we can spend more time on things that are fun. The barrier to see if some outlandish idea works is also nonexistent now, you can generate a (non production ready, of course) MVP in an hour, where before it would take a few days.

I've never had this much fun at work. There was nothing more that I disliked in my job than months long projects with everything already planned out in advance. It made work extremely predictable and boring, the project was already fully thought out, all that needed to be done was the boring bit of writing all the code that you already know how to write, all the fun of exploring different ideas and implementation directions was already done.

Weird responses you're getting, I agree with you fully, if someone is constantly putting on display what they hate I'll keep as far away from them as I can be.

Your argument clearly comes from a doomer perspective, your employment will be gone (Maybe, but you will find new employment), your community will be gone (?), your ability to own anything will be gone (?????)

your favorite spaces on the internet and your power and voice in society(??), you can't just turn away and say that you'll just ignore tha

I've clearly been on the internet longer then you, all of my favorite places are already gone. It's completely fine. Life is finite and there is something beautiful about that.

I wish you too will find the beauty in life at some point.
