It is getting mighty tiring to be continuously put in the tech bro libertarian camp just because of my sex, choice of occupation and stance on privacy.

That being said I don't see it as being impossible for a privacy preserving system to be put into place where the central certificate authority (state) offers a way of authenticating the age of the individual without leaking further information, and the client not offering up details about what is being viewed.

For example Meta wants to authenticate a users age and simply receives a boolean response indicating that they are of legal age or not, without anything more.

This could be implemented quite easily in some European countries that already use government issued electronic authentication systems (Auðkenni in Iceland and DigiD in the Netherlands spring to mind).

I once worked in a git repository that required those kinds of restrictions.

This was within a bank and the code in question was related to enabling Apple Pay from within the banking application. The consequences of that information and code leaking or being seen by anyone who had not signed the NDA were very serious (don't remember the details but it made the lawyers were extremely stressed about it).

Needing to figure out a way to protect those parts of the codebase it was decided in the end that the "easiest" way of doing this was to split the repository in half, with the actual artifact building taking place from the half that had the NDA code. The rest of the application (basically the whole application) was then used as a dependency by it.

Still didn't quite solve the issue, but access to that repository was heavily controlled.

Having insight into the Dutch university education system I've noticed that the students here are incredibly entitled, and even cite "being paying customers" when they disagree with the difficulty of course work or the scoring they get and diagree with.

My experience of my Nordic university time, some 20 years ago mirrors yours. Not unlimited retakes, but very hard exams and no one had this "customer" attitude. Just nose to the grindstone, very long days in the library, every single day of the week.

I had my fourth Covid infection just a month ago. Fully vaccinated, and having had it three times before, it still hit me like a brick.

It took 10 days to get rid of the flu like symptoms, two weeks to get to semi normal, but my taste hasn't been the same since. Not entirely gone, but very muted.

If these gums were available off the shelf I would buy them in a heartbeat!

Yeah those early days ~2010ish were very painful. Things got much better as early as 2016 and they have improved each subsequent year since.

I'd say there has never been a better time than now, in terms of tooling, to pick up native Android.

This is the case. A friend, born outside of the US, who is a researcher at Harvard is now looking at options outside of the US due to their visa being about to expire and it not looking like it will get extended.

After seeing reports[1] a few years back about the use of Coke as a non invasive way to clean these out, I now drink the stuff when my stomach is upset. With n=1 I can report it has a real effect on me.

To be honest it sounds like you hit the jackpot there.

You say this is a company you could see yourself working at for some time, and have been handed C suite level responsibility that you can handle. So seemingly you are content and able to handle the work load.

Learning to be a IC is something anyone can do given time, but learning to be a manager can only be learned by being on the job, if you are able to get it in the first place.

Now is really not a good time to jump ship, unless you know for certain that the new position is going to be stable.

Grab the opportunity, do a good job and perhaps study how to be a better IC in your free time. You'll come out on the other side with skills and experiences that many in this field will be missing.

Have you done any write ups about how best to go about doing something like this?

I'd love to organize something like this in my local community but somehow am not sure where or how to start really.

Some of us run unGoogled/M$ Linux systems and want offline functionality. None of those options you mentioned would work for us.
