If anything, all the author expresses is the disappointment of his own expectations while not adding anything constructive.

Looking at the screenshots what he wants to achieve is perfectly doable cross browser but as per the author admission he's not much of a front-end guy.

Funtip: Turn off javascript, render navigation and other elements on "Muse" based pages non-functional.

The lack of any meaningful fallback is disappointing. Accessibility to content should at all stages be a priority.

I'll bite.

I think the "fear" is that once a non-web weary designer get's going with this there will be absolutely no regard for performance impact since it will render fine on what ever pimped up work station is in use.

Meanwhile on platforms with lesser hardware where the browser does not have a full hardware render pipeline the performance will likely be even worse then flash.

In fact, with the ferris wheel demo Safari eats 10% CPU time, Chrome 30%, Firefox 50% on a single core. System: OS X 10.6.8, GF 9400M.

Next thing to happen: "Disable javascript / css to save battery life on your device". :)

For something as basic as an index lister, the resource use is a bit over the top imho. It is nice though.

Slightly offtopic perhaps, but would IPv6 + multicast use substantially lower the cost for ISPs and Content Providers ?

By that same token, wouldn't that be a reason to push IPv6 more into the market place as everybody wins in the end ?

Having finished the game and gone thru all the extras you see that very little has changed at all since the original conception in '97 apart from the engine changes over time.

Ironically the final boss battle is the most Duke3D like gameplay moment of the entire game.
