Apple acquihires. Specifically people from Cue (who were acquired to provide tech for Siri) and Workflow (whose app became 'Shortcuts')

This is great, but the Basic Auth is broken in Netscape, and I can't log into most of my sites. :D

This is true to the underlying system. Old browsers cannot work with TLS 1.2 so if you boot up old machines with old browsers, it is http only sites (of which there are now few)

In this case, I'm going to an http-accessible website, which normally works with Netscape 4 (and 3). It even displays the correct 403 message page (incorrectly.)

Holy crap. MacOS emulation has gotten really good. I’m amazed how easily I was able to navigate the desktop from my phone. What’s powering this?

Check https://infinitemac.org - some of the Macs there seem to have an Ambrosia folder. Hopefully it's what you meant? :)

While on that site I tried to open it in Netscape, to open it in another Netscape so I can create a feedback loop that would take the world back to 1998. Sadly, that version of Netscape can't open new websites.

The requests in netscape appear to be forwarded to an open proxy - is this a safe thing to do?
