In my experience, it comes down to matching patterns.
Here's what I think likely happened: your friend talked to other people who went through tragedy. He noticed something common in their behavior. It can be something so subtle that it's invisible to most people, but your friend notices these kind of things. Then when he talked to the current person, he found the similar pattern.

He did not talk about quite a few issues like this. I think that’s because the video is targeted for a less technical audience. But this video did make me think about the innovation the world is deprived of because of this monopoly. What wonders we miss because of this.

My high school physics teacher. She taught me the importance of being a good human being. And that being kind and empathetic to others is the best thing a person can do. That honesty and integrity are more important than winning. And she also taught me elementary physics.

I set the zoom level to 130% in Firefox for this site only. It is persistant. I don't have to do it every time I visit the site. And it doesn't effect other sites.

Actually you can use ANY static site generator with github. Be it hugo, octopress, jekyll, hakyll or your own hand.
That should be obvious because the “host-ability” of a static site doesn’t depend much on the tool you used to create it. If it outputs html file, a http server will serve them.

Yes. My younger brother did learn programming in a phone. He started in Nokia 2700 Classic, which is not even a smartphone. Then he took a Samsung which runs Android. He certainly didn't become an expert using those devices. But he learnt the basics of Python.
One thing to note probably is, he started very young. And in young ages people can learn very easily. I don't think I can learn programming in a smartphone in my current age. But for kids, whole different game.

You can deploy any static website with GitHub. You can't just run backend code and can't have a database there.

Puppy Linux. (http://puppylinux.org) It runs from memory. That means it's super light.
On second thought, you can make Archlinux (https://www.archlinux.org/) really light. It doesn't run on memory but you can choose very easily whatever DE or services you want. So it's possible to make Arch super lightweight more easily than say, Ubuntu.
Used Jekyll (https://jekyllrb.com/) for a while. But now Hugo (https://gohugo.io/).
I don't know how to do that. But you can read a text file with -f flag. This combined with -m flag which ignores html tags may result in what you are looking for. You will have to save the page every time you want to read.

I didn't use whatsapp. Facebook doesn't know my phone number. It's either a coincidence or what paulcole said. Or Facebook is tracking my location somehow.

I meet a girl. She had a smartphone in which she had the Facebook app installed. I had a iPod which had a Facebook app installed too. But there was no wifi in the place we met. And my location services are always off in my device. I come home, and Facebook shows her as "People you may know." I had 32 mutual friends with her. So I let it go thinking it might be a coincidence.
Few days later, I meet a guy. Don't know if he had a smartphone or not. But I had my iPod. And there was no wifi. Location services are off. I come home. I see that guy as "People you may know." This time I had 2 mutual friends with him. Coincidence?
