The ocean has long been viewed as a shipping lane, a source of fisheries, and an energy carrier. But can we envision another possibility—treating the ocean itself as an "infrastructure" system helping regulate heat, water vapor, and regional climate?

This article does not propose an engineering project ready for implementation. Rather, it presents a thought experiment intended to stimulate discussion and identify experimentally testable questions.

Particularly for public-list companies (no security clearance needed etc), they should 'open-source' or 'wiki' their hiring process to 0-opacity.

I mean it won't be difficult to use gen ai to analyze where a candidate is compared to the peers. So it is a 'objective' offer or rejection.

The companies hiring H-1x should publish all job hiring process (interviews, exams questions) at least at closing to all candidates. Thus it is subject to "objective" review.

There was once upon a time a discussion about bank/finance software system. You have to keep long history of audit records / logs. It is difficult to peruse such consideration here with the database ballooned to the cloud.

I don't think mentioning non-linearality means you can bypass the singularities you may cause typically CUSP, buckling etc and omit the analysis intentionally or negeliccantly.

if carnot diagram is drawn, it will show nothing cheap. try to recall thermal dynamics taught many years ago. heat pump works well when the exterior temp differ not much from interior temp. thermal dynamics is a very chilling subject, basically demysterifying fundamnetally and establish a solid view of engineering. Its experiments were repeated by millions of engineering students, the rules derived still hold firmly on earth so far.

I think maybe replacement of plastic bags could be given a higher priority like artificialize egg plant skin or lotus leaf.

This is not my area. Just audited Distributed System. This Docker thing, from beginning, sounds like try to implement a middleware using software. I don't recall but obscurely remember the distribute system guys has something about implementing a middleware. If the kernel is shared, it is not a container. It is like everything laid on the floor on crowded ferry. I would like to know if there is a specifiction of Docker. Particularly its Qos -- quality of service. That is the major consideration of any engineering.

I sort of work much on automation. Once upon a time in a Canada futon factory I worked as summer jobber. They had a automation packing machine that is like getting broken every two or three hours so the whole line of workers have to wait for it to get fixed, like most my later working scenarios. I do believe I have pretty solid engineering background. The biggest problem of automation is the mechanical parts are so easy to break down. The second problem is electronic chip mostly last two years, if they are located in a very complex place (inside an engine, tall building roof etc), repair and replacement cost is prohibitive. Untrained and transient labors hardly think of the two problems.
