I tried backbone.js and couldn't get past white screen of death even after a few days of trying. Comparing that to Vue, it's just barbaric.

As your first move I'd suggest start pushing managment for a new hire. Four locations and only one person managing them? That doesn't sound feasible in the long run and it's definitely not fair to you.

I've been using it for a year or so as my main terminal app (putty replacement), renewed for 2nd year and will keep using it. While it is a great kitchen sink for anyone on Windows overall UI experience is not so great. Windows UI guidelines are not followed - dialog boxes look like they are from another planet. Occasional weirdness occur with SFTP browser not starting when connecting (app restart required) and other little things like that. Support is decent. Loving MOSH support.

If Wev Apps are a very real part of the future of the web why isn't there a standard for that? Or in another words, if it is the future why haven't they all sat down and agreed upon a standard??

This way we'll be begging jQuery for Web Apps or some other abstraction layer that will do all the dirty work of cross browser compatibility...

You're probably right, but this is kind of fine print that isn't really visible (especially to new users) so it is important to put it in plain sight...

Although they've increased free tier EBS limit to 30 GB, all windows images have root images of exactly 30 GB. So if you're planning (like me) to use both windows and linux instances in free tier you have to either install windows from installation media snapshot (on a EBS volume which is smaller than 30 GB) or pay for overage on EBS storage ...

I'll share my two cents, being a VB.net developer primarily, and a C# developer. I do .net consulting work in either vb.net or c#, makes no difference. Learning curve from vb.net to c# was nonexistent.

Working with C# is like working with a special needs child. I know that some things can happen automatically but they just don't, and I have to do them manually. This is not a language issue, but Visual Studio issue. And this is a reason for ReSharper and other addins that make my life with C# bearable. With VB.net I don't need any addins other than Visual Studio itself.

When switching to vb.net after doing c# for even couple of weeks, my code just flows from my fingers and I feel much much more efficient while writing code.

And there goes my ~$50 worth of credits unused :(

I'm too happy with Linode VPS to even describe how happy I am :) Even the smallest VPS packs plenty of power
