Yes, Viridis is quantifiably better than Parula, as the talk shows, but Parula comes with the standard Matlab, and the jump from Jet to Parula was of such a tremendous magnitude that I kind of fell in love with the Parula color scheme right away. Jump from Parula to Viridis would be less noticeable, I guess. The talk opened my eyes to the fact that there are much better ways to use color for information presentation. (Sorry for the late reply)

I am not colorblind, but work with data visualization in Matlab a lot. This hilarious SciPy2015 talk[1] convinced me to switch to the Parula color scheme. There's no way I'm going back to Jet.

There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Ukrainians who already actively expressed their support to current shift in Ukrainian political landscape and their distrust to corrupt politicians currently in charge of the country, call it a war or a revolution. Arguing that and calling them "few thousands of extremists" is laughable - just have a look at any of the livestreams. Also, most adult people are at work. Ukraine is a big country.

Two things that especially amaze about the actual 'street part' of Ukrainian revolution are complete absence of plundering or looting of local shops and that no firearms have been used by protesters.

That happened yesterday, and at least two major Ukrainian mobile operators stated [1,2] that they have nothing to do with these SMS broadcasts and that pirate base stations were probably used in the area of the disturbance.

What you are suggesting (or quite in the spirit of that) is currently being implemented in Russia [1] as a so called Unified Register of Forbidden Websites. It is perceived by a lot of people in Russia as a dumbest initiative by government in the whole IT-regulation field and continues to produce suspicious, erroneous, as well as erratic and simply idiotic bans.

Right now there are four Go-related submissions on the HN front page. Ryan's tool shows just two 'golang' job submissions over the whole observed time span of Apr2011-Aug2013.
