By May 2026, 332 of the 1,900 unicorns in a database maintained by Ilya Strebulaev of Stanford University had raised money at a valuation at or below their peak (see chart). Of those, 212 were valued at under $1bn. As many as 383 had disclosed no new funding in the previous three years; 41 of these had lost unicorn status

332 out of 1900 isn't that bad?

Even the further 338 if confirmed would still be less a minority of the overall 1900

Three main providers

(Apple login is in nearly every iOS app and most websites)

Awareness and for those who don't yet have a console?

Every shop selling it will be advertising it in their shop windows and on the shop floor. That's free marketing!

Also I imagine there will be bundle deals with consoles and other accessories.

Money laundering at the high level works as unless you are on the USA watchlist, it's the USA and it's allies that are the vehicle which facilitates it.

Offshore vehicles? Most are British islands.

Onshore vehicles? Delaware and similar

Unless the west puts you on a list, it's professionals will happily help anyone in the world.

Yes.

As an example I think Androids have a single device ID which is given to all apps. But iOS has a per app device ID.

Tesla already buys wholesale electricity for it's charging network and so is leveraging that and it's brand/customer database to diversify and enter the reliable revenue stream that is domestic utility bills?

Perhaps Tesla share price isn't that silly if they are going to be so innovative in their thinking.

In many countries degrees are 3 years.

And the FAANGs employ them at their offices in these countries.

Your people could be saving a whole year of their lives not studying algorithms they will never use.

Risk cannabalising sales from their other products?

For example Nvidia seek to ban consumer GPU use in datacenters as they to sell datacentre GPUs.

If they made consumer platforms that can take 1tb of ram etc, then people may choose to not buy EYPC.

Afterall many cloud providers already offer Ryzen VPS's.

I have been continuously baffled by the people that think that soldered on RAM is somehow "throwaway"

One of the primary objections to soldered RAM was/is the cost to purchase. As the likes of Apple priced Ram upgrade at a hefty premium to retail prices.

Read the review carefully.

Often something will get 9/10 but the benchmark charts/measurements or mention of a relevant flaw will be included. Therby allowing reviewer to inform you whilst still maintaining a positive relationship with the manufacturer.

To be fair, if you turn on thinking mode on Llms and see the output their is some thinking/reasoning.

A simple example:

Prompt:Make it yellow

Think: the user wants something yellow but hasn't said what it is. Previously the user talked about creating a Button, so it must be the button but I should clarify by asking

Response: is it the button that you want yellow?

Building a self-hosted SaaS is hard mainly because the variety of skills needed have been split into a series of distinct roles. Front end dev, backend dev, database admin, network engineer, DevOps etc

And so it requires an investment in time, which maybe 1year+, to learn a wider set of skills which many don't want to do

This could have been worse if the person was tied into AWS's services.

As if all their code was geared to AWS services and they were banned, they couldn't easily deploy elsewhere without a re-write

I stick to to VMs/kubernetes and containers and VMs. No own brand services.
