If anyone is looking to do the same. Our office in Davao City, Philippines is open and free. We have Internet, coffee and meetups monthly at least.

Meals can cost as low as $2 and lodging as low as $4 / day. Everyone knows English and very westernized compared to other SEA nation.

Email eric (at) lifebit.com if you are interested.

It's Adventure Time 12 years ago

The Ice King is one of the most tragic characters ever written in recent times right next to Gollum. When you consider he was pivotal to how the Earth survived and how he protected a main character throughout childhood at a great ongoing personal cost - its astoundingly deep. The lore/universe is also very imaginative in the right way (somewhat grounded but very creative). Highly recommended. Watch Season 1 and 2 before judging because S01 is a little rough.

SteamOS 13 years ago

I am sure it will be just 3b or 3c. a VR peripheral would be a long shot but I would be glad to be wrong. :)

SteamOS 13 years ago

1. Steam

2. Steambox

3a. some VR peripheral (looks like a VR goggle/headset to me)

3b. some special cross-play between Steambox and Windows/Mac/Linux

3c. cross play between steambox and PS4

We are using this for our web and backend at Lifebit and i can confirm this makes PHP development so much more enjoyable. We have tried Code Igniter, CakePHP and a bunch of others. Has the right mix of community, documentation, weight, speed and code commits activity.

This means that most of XBLA type/calibre is still going to happen (90% or 100% of XBLA had publishers)

This move is more for quality control (plus data on the lackluster downloads of Xbox Indie games) rather than hatred for indies. Its still short sighted but it would also make Xbox One deal with less cruft of games, thereby avoiding the signal-to-noise being bad (remember all games are not silo'ed anymore.) making the game library browsing experience just generally more appealing to the mainstream customer. I doubt these demographic will miss Xbox indie-type games, heck I don't think they even visited that tab.

But I do like the intense focus on games by the PS4 camp more. Just happy that Xbox One and PS4 are now going in totally divergent paths.

its from the TV show, Community. I was hoping the Senor Chang preface was enough of a clue that it was a pop/geek culture reference...

In the words of Señor Chang. GAYYYY! Seriously, the letter is a GREAT idea but the gushing and sensuality will make MY co-founder think i'm in love with him or something. Tone it down a bit and it will be perfect and much needed too.

Here is my first iteration of a fitting tribute to dmr. Unix is, i think, one of the most important invention in software in recent memory.

I think the main problem of Color's products is the motivation behind them. Bill Nguyen seems to design their products (2 so far) on going after money in the social space not a deeper, more organic need. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Foursquare had founders who were intertwined/empathic to the problem their products solve. Nguyen strikes me as an armchair social analyst - analyzing the social space without using, understanding it deeply. But this impression is based only on a few interviews and Color's movements.

Here is why Facebook will not lose any momentum over Google+. They are too agile, well-run and nimble at the moment. That and google+ architecture is too similar to Facebook.

Facebook is doing a good job matching Circles, improving photos on the feed, improving chat, etc. Almost every unique features of G+ are now competing with a 'good enough' counterpart on Facebook. Expect Facebook to match any new ones popping up from Google's camp all the while rolling out more new stuff around music, videos and photos.
