Wow, I can very much relate to this. I moved to VT 5 years ago, and I just haven't been able to put my finger on why there's a disparity between my social life here vs. my former city.

Many people simply talk much slower, drone on, and are not socially aware of when a conversation becomes one-sided. I'm used to fast talking, quick-witted New Jersey style conversations. At work I'm often engulfed with these 5 minute lectures about random garbage that I don't particularly care for.

On a mid-2011 MBP with severe performance issues running stuff like Atom, but these animations work fine for me with zero lag. Something is wrong with your computer.

The usage of code words and symbols by Comet Pizza and Besta Pizza are mapped to an FBI document that was uncovered. There's also been strange phrases uncovered in the Podesta emails that seem to indicate that code words are in use. Additionally, people have found hidden data in JPGs sent around, which appear to be hashes that were placed after the closing JPG headers. Not sure I believe any of it, but it's definitely interesting.

Minor critique - Getting a MBP to run with dual external monitors is a complete and absolute nightmare involving propriety standards (thunderbolt), OS lockouts (MST works with bootcamp, but not OSX), and expensive Apple hardware (outdated $1000 monitors only). Apple is no longer the company of simplicity from yesteryear.

Marketing is often based on aspiration. Using the most attractive people doing the most exciting things is what sells for things like this. You would be willfully throwing out ROI to promote "feelings".... Tough sell.

I built a React app for a large Ecom site recently using the same strategy. It handles all URL updates with the History API, and simply AJAX loads the same URL with a query param to hydrate the app with JSON. Works really simply, and doesn't require Redux, Flux, or React Router.

Because every time that I've had to deal with the exchange of data to and from Salesforce it has been a massive headache. I also would strongly prefer to see Demandware stick to their agenda of using modern Javascript as a backend language that powers the platform, but now I worry that's going to either stall or be adjusted to use something else.

As a Demandware developer who has worked on Salesforce integrations, this makes me nervous.

I can speak to the fact that on the ecommerce site I work, only 1-2% of users are on older IE, but they account for many thousands of dollars of sales.

The scrolling in Chrome is a major concern for me though. After using Apple trackpads it is downright painful to use Windows hardware and scrolling. Microsoft needs to nail these software issues in order to compete, because in terms of hardware, they're vastly superior to Apple right now. I hope they don't squander that advantage.

Wouldn't this only be true if there was a perfect 50/50 split of qualified speakers based on gender? Percentages can be positioned to show that bias exists only when the input doesn't match the result. It is unknown whether the field of applicants had an "acceptable" amount of diversity to begin with.

In my opinion we should judge people solely on the relevance and quality of their presentations at conferences. Why should anything else matter? I think everyone agrees with this for the most part. It's just unfortunate that some people feel the need to supply unequal treatment to certain genders/races by creating quotas.

I think the OP was referring to games that require complex animations, 3D, or interfaces that use the webcams or microphones.

Flash was the major source of online rich-media games up until a couple of years ago, not "the 90's". It's still used in that arena because HTML/CSS/JS is not as good of a platform for interactive gaming.

The first thing I tried to do was find the edge cases for this. Impressively a sofa bike with people on it was mostly identified!
