This is my opinion as well. Many people still believe that programming equals a unique and high paying job. It is not ut is quite boring and you have to be the guy that always says yes and deliver no matter what, much like a factory worker.

This feels like something only a woman could put forward or demand in a relationship based on their value in the dating market. A man would be in a much higher risk of being left with the same arrangement.

This is why i find it so much fun to do applications on windows with .net you only need to know one language C# or VB.net and then you are set. You can create anything with just this, of course it will only work on windows but i dont mind, it just such a pleasure to only have one toolset and then just focus on the task at hand.

Don't forget to mention the racism that is getting bigger and bigger here in sweden. I am a native swede my self and i know how we talk and think. The swedish democrats are real proof of how the whole population is starting to show its true face.

If you are white sweden will be great, but if you are anything other than white you will be in a quite cold hell where people do not like you.

I think the reason why it is hard to get native friends is that many swedes truly are racist. I am a native swede my self and i know how swedes talk to each other when alone, and the rise of the swedish democrats is also a big proof of the racism(that also is getting bigger) in sweden.

Its not impossible tho and the racism here is more similar to the one in japan, its not visible on the surface but you will never be a part of the community. But! there is good people everywhere you go, you just need to look for them.

Not everyone can learn math. I my self had brilliant and great math tutors that my parents hired for me. I event went to special private math classes with brilliant math teachers and i tried to the best of my abilities to get good at it and pass the advanced math courses in highschool. Still i suck greatly at math and i always will.

I am very grateful for all the help my parents provided for me without it i would not pass even the first math classes in highschool.

I probably wont be programming that much, if i do not work with a legacy system. The type of programming i do is mostly putting a simple gui on top of a database, in a decade we will have automated that task and making a database application will be as simpel as doing a powerpoint presentations. If i do not move up to management or find a niche i will be out of a job, because i do not have the capacity to figure out the hard parts of programming.

I dont get why cannonical dont invest in development experience. forget the ubuntu mobile bullshit it wont grab the market anyway.

But there are tons of developers out there that use ubunut. They have a great opportunity to create a complete IDE to cloud platform much like visual studio and azure, but with open source tools and a great linux system.

I have the same problem as you and the closest thing i have found is scala and intellij. But I dont really like scala as i find it messy also there is nothing out there that is as good as wpf with mvvm.

I dont get it. Why do they not invest in hiring less experienced developers and make them the best employees.

It may cost more in the short run, but if you invest early in a developer with little to no experience you get the opportunity to shape that developer into your tech stack and company.

Of course it would be better with open source software. But what difference does it makes? There are no viable free/open alternatives to lots of commercial software out there and it will probably stay that way for the rest of our lifes.

I bet 1000sek that you are not able to setup an game development studio focusing on ps4 games with only free/open software for example.

Visual studio 2010 and dotNet surely works fine under wine. But there are lots of small cornerstones in the tools and software companies use that does not work so great.

If there was an real free alternative to windows where all the specialized software worked i am dead sure companies would start to use it. But at this moment there is no such alternative.

Exactly people are different, some are smarter than others. Otherwise everybody would be an engineer or medical doctor or some other high status high paying job.

This whole mentality that everybody are born equal in mental capacity is a likely cause of stress and depression among many people today.

People are born tall, small, fat, skinny, smart, supid. Just find your level and optimize your own happiness.

Not everyone is born with good discipline. Otherwise everyone would be super successful. We all are slaves to our genes and environment, some are born successful some are not.

Well its C so you do not need an whole operating system to use it(emacs). Also why the bashing? The author of this program has made something that is useful and that is a concrete project, its not an blog post about making a todo list in node.js.

I think Canonical should focus on the cloud and developers. At the moment most of the ones using Ubuntu are developers and Canonical should focus on producing a complete package with a nice and integrated development experience all the way from the could to the developer desktop.
