Sure, more interesting than just pure CPU performance will be improvements to GPU, image processing, ML and others though - at least in my eyes.
If we'll just look at geekbench's single core bench, I'm sure Apple will still lead. (And overall likely still produce the better chips.)
Guess we'll see (maybe) in December (Snapdragon 875 will be announced December 1st at Qualcomms Digital Summit) - or a bit later, but the 875, now also on 5nm, supposedly will be quite a bump. Leaked (supposed) benchmarks show 30%+ improvement, which would be A14 territory.
I also have my doubts, but would be great for the market. (New Exynos 2100 supposedly also being up there.)
That would be a great device to also include a touchscreen in a mac for the first time... after all macOS is getting more and more touch-capable UI and got iOS app support. :)
But like you said, likely would eat into the iPad market - on the other side, as long as they don't make it a 2-in-1, the iPad should still have more than enough reason to exist.
That blows my mind. Microsoft has had an ARM version of Windows for years. I would have thought they would have lept to support Bootcamp on these new Macs.
Why and for who though? Yes, there is an ARM version of windows, but there is pretty much no software for it - and most of the Windows ARM software (Office?) likely has already iOS versions and will have upcoming Mac ARM versions.
I have the feeling that 99%+ of Bootcamp users use it for x86 software.

That's not the problem. Even if you allow them you'll get scrutinized by recaptcha currently. Seems like a fix is on the way though.
Brave is overall pretty snappy and I only got problems with Recaptcha, which wants me to do a ridiculous amount of tests.

Rumoured initial release of February 2019 and the Snapdragon 710 that is in devices for over 1.5? years already I wouldn't be surprised if similar problems as Samsung's lead to that late release now.
