I think it’s safe to say Google seems a bit out of the top AI competition now. The “cyber” stuff also starts to become laughable with open models providing the full power without the crap Anthropic, Google, OpenAI are trying to frontload on you(I.e you are not allowed to develop/review a login system, pay a special cyber operation team to do it for you). They really deserve to become irrelevant in the future of AI.

Looks like the thing I am building but of course mine will be slightly different. It would be great if we could all meet to show off and discuss our AI stuff.

This is the way. Guess what am I working right now? My own “Work” app that will be better than anything else available today!

Let’s better download them fast before Dario is making a scene again!

I give you a common reason to short it: you had a 5% of the company float IPO, in a few months you will have 40% of the company or more on the public market . Not to mention the “special” changes to index funds etc just to keep its valuation high (some would say artificially). On top of that the valuation metric for its stock price are not earth-ish…

> Your argument boils down to "they've done something I find objectionable, so that means everything they say must be lies".

Not at all. My point is that the every thing they do is quite questionable from business development to sales & marketing

The hooks are more important than the quality. The whole short video stuff is designed to be filled by AI slop.

Even the long video format (I.e movies) are in big trouble due AI because the cheap/junk stuff they produce (I.e Netflix style ) will be easily produced with AI.

Not to mention that people will have the option to no longer subject themselves to the lecturing of various political crap that is being delivered through the big media producers(I.e Netflix)

Mythos/Fable release was significantly delayed because Dario is pushing for regulatory capture. It also plays into the hype because there was no one else releasing a model better than Opus. The same thing was with the scarcity crap. They said Fable will not run on subscription, then they will run just for a little while and then forever... Once you get the game they are playing it starts to become quite laughable. If you check his history he was doing the safety/terminator stuff since the days at OpenAI when the models couldnt even calculate 1+1 reliably

> No they're not. It would end both companies if they were ever found to be doing that. Their terms are clear - The argument here is that with the Chinese labs you have zero legal recourse.

Their terms are not worth shit considering they are reselling you stolen copyrighted data. Even in they terms they started clearly say they retain your data for "safety reasons" for however long they want. Perhaps you didn't watch the space with Anthropic going back and forth with ToS updates(we retain your data for 30 days...stike that and add 30 days or more or no or ..whatever) like my own alpha website.
