At the rate of his quality, hope google does right and just buys his app out instead.

Probably went cause of the freedom. He practically got a blank check from them and got to do almost whatever he felt like. Unfortunately Apple and the others are too big where they can’t be political and since they depend on certain governments “freedoms” it gets dicey as we head into an era of neo-brinksmanship.
This is my ancedata as well. It’s usually used as a proxy to prevent divorce. Those who are actually poly it’s a lot of over communication and a lot of syncing of calendars.
Rumor is it’s a done deal and they’re just weaponizing it for the election. I despise this is where we’ve come in political theater.
This feels like the crux of the beeper battle. I can’t wait for the Aaron Sorkin adoption on a Netflix miniseries.
I just wish they follow Amazon and allow me to choose a day(s). Tired of planning for a day only for it to be rescheduled
Sadly they never fixed the supporting issues, low wages, inability of affordable housing at pace to keep up with growth. It’s like they just thought giving an aspirin was going to cure the flu.
Why do android users want something they have everything else ahead? I don’t want interoperability. If I did I’d use the other messaging apps that are far beyond apple’s. The only value I see is stubbornness with older family as many see iPhones as a simpler device
Only question is what’s the endgame? It’s not like they’re going to gain meaningful followers from this. This happens every 3-5 years with something Apple does and all that happens is Apple hardens even more, the little guy gets some press for a month and then disappears into the ethers
With this news, does anyone know if there’s any of these new cycle tech startups that are working together to make some kind of FOSS tech to mitigate having vaporware if the company goes bell up? Glad Cowboy stepped in, but this feels like one of a couple.
As a macOS user was a fan of the initial version. Then Microsoft went into its Microsoft ways. Office toolbar, but you can hide it. Then more bing overrides on the new tab but you could adjust that. Finally came the bing icon. While I get I’m using a “free” tool, I wish there was more variation (particularly for work) in just getting a barebones browser. I was rooting for them as they implemented a couple of features that got them similar to Firefox DevTools, but them adding more and more bloat default, I moved to arc. Really wish safari would beef its dev tools by removing the App Store requirement, but alas. Seems devs don’t want to touch Firefox at the level to update their extensions comparable to chromium browsers.
Cause every VR team has attempted before them with marginal success. 3D in 2D formats has never been appealing for mass consumption. The goal is to get people comfortable with the idea of this first.
It has a virtual keyboard so it’s a replacement.
For now. I actually see them moving to this if it takes off both for battery life and computing. Them even labeling it as a spatial computer, shows there positioning this to be their future.
I think I’m noticing what people do all the time with Apple launches, not listen to the marketing. They told you exactly where they’re positioning this. Spatial computing. Not quite tvOS not quite iPadOS. If they’re lucky this is the watch all over again. If they’re truly lucky, this the new iPlatform. I’m just excited they’ve now confirmed this will be a market for at least another decade. I am bummed to see though that it is a queued release and not a global preorder.
It’s time to stop penalizing us then. Fix the damn tax code
Because too many of them get in power to avoid the time for those crimes.
I know James Earl Jones last year before fully retired worked in doing a lot of vocal donation for tools like this for probably exactly what you’re stating
(American biased) I think too many in these conversations fail to show good unions (sports and entertainment) and harp on the bloated ones (teachers UAW). Ideally the union should just be a floor, what protections we’re provided, benefits for when corporate feels trimming happy to soften these blows, and to reduce inherent biases within the industry. While I’d love for one to develop in this time, it’s still too many thinking they’ll be the successor versus the next to be expendable.
That’s more with the chosen platform, Substack, than with the author
AMC didn’t own the shows. They were both Lionsgate and Sony Pictures respectively. They overcorrected with TWD and haven’t marketed a single show since effectively.
Guessing it’s still a scalable issue for it to take off. King Children is still the only company I know that’s in this space, but they haven’t taken off like I’ve hoped for them to expand
Probably not, but going where the market is in terms of business. Majority of their headless support is for react so investing in the stack allows them to expand and dictate that future. (Ancedata: did headless Shopify with ember and was aggravated in how piss poor their js support was in relation to React until their dev team told the data).
While it may seem that way there’s still plenty of market share on the table. Add vercel’s increasing coupling to its deployment system for best features, others will always welcome more agnostic approaches.
Being that’s beta, I’m going good faith and it’s just ensuring the stability of the site.
It will still get security updates, but the hardware is a the point of no new support. If you don’t need those features in newer watches it makes a perfect device keep track of kids/elderly who don’t need all the bells and whistles
I get what they’re going for but apple made it clear with two things he’s not the target audience (yet):
- cellular only (first in this space that no one speaks of with this battery capacity)
- them catering to planners/trainers in their adversing.
Sure Apple is pricey and they don’t make for everyone, but no one markets with bullseyes like Apple in tech. I hope Garmin truly welcomes the competition. It’s getting sad and I would love pressure on Apple to really continue attempting to push the space of wearables and not get idle from being on a market island

I mean that’s a tall ask, even google just does a YT video and a blog post and allow the enthusiast community to truly do the heavy lifting. Most of the features have been posted on this very site already.
That was not a virtue signal nor demand. Media picked up cute kid asking to do good, companies found away to reduce costs for their profits. Most states and cities banned plastic bags, but the straw was corporate greenwashing
