I was on the phone with them getting a demo of Enterprise Managed Users at the time and the demo was failing too, ha. So we looked at the status page together and saw all yellow.

If I want to learn a new technology, that's been out a while, I make sure to look for jobs for it first. Just a gut check on how many opportunities are out there for it.

This doesn't work for something brand new of course, but I still do a cursory look through job sites to see what I can see.

Like for instance on Dice.com right now there are 60 jobs available. If I were interested in Clojure today and saw that, I probably wouldn't bother because I know Clojure is mature but there's not a market for it apparently.

Again, this isn't meticulous or scientific at all, just a gut check with a few searches.

Then again, Rust only has 13 jobs listed soooooo.....

I don't want my device sending or receiving any data using my data plan without my knowing. Do apps I have installed send shit constantly? Sure. But those are MY apps -- that's on me for using them. But if someone else has a tag, and I'm near it, my phone shouldn't be used to send/receive data about said tag at all. I definitely don't like this "we created a network of devices and everyone is opted in" setup.

Similar to the hub-bub raised of Alexa devices "sharing" internet connectivity.

I feel like buying it to support them because Mac native app companies are few and far between. And Transmit was good when I needed to use it (haven't forever). And Coda was my main editor for a long time.

But I'll still use VS Code cause I work on a Mac and on Linux and it's nice for it to just be the same. And I have no complaints to solve with VS Code. It does exactly what I need for Python and other stuff.

I love Panic. Transmit was awesome when I needed a great sftp client gui. But I don't need it anymore.

Coda was baller. But I don't need it anymore.

I think I'll go ahead and buy Nova to check it out and support them. But VS Code does everything I need and I have no complaints about it. Plus I can use the same editor on my Mac and on my Linux desktops.

I find it interesting they're getting into this space, but more power to them.

(1) Private forum, displayed in the public. (2) Those rights protect your speech from being suppressed BY THE GOVERNMENT. (3) Correct if you meant legally as a private company running a private forum, they can manage the content as they see fit, including fact checking the POTUS. Or incorrect if you meant you have a legal right to exercise your speech on their platform free of their rules.

"Call mom" sometimes calls my mom, who is in my favorites (I have 4 people in favorites: mom, wife, daughter, brother).

Sometimes it decides to call "wife's mom"

Sometimes it says "which mom" then lists "mom, wife's mom"

Mom, literally the word mom, is in my favorites. I use it almost daily.

And yet, Siri doesn't remember this, doesn't create relevancy, it doesn't even decide "Let's look at Favorites first".

Why does it matter if a few volunteer mods manage a ton of subs?

Isn't it hard to do? So they have a hard job? And it's volunteer?

And .. what? I don't understand the outrage directed at mods I guess.

Note: I'm a light Reddit user. I follow a handful of subs. And I can't name a single mod of any of them. Maybe this is more meaningful for people who spend more time on the site and are more involved in their particular subs? What, they just bash heads with mods sometimes?

My whole group was in on Infinity for a long time.

But eventually the intricacies of Infinity rules gets to you. It is a dense DENSE ruleset that requires constant referral to the rulebook.

It is fun. It is a great setting. But I know it wears on some people due to its complexity.

After a week of work where I'm heavy on the brain-stuff, I've decided I want my games dumber than Infinity.

That's a bummer. I liquidated the stellar they sent me. Free money. I bought some plastic Orks to paint, ha.

The docs right now refer to using `docker` as well, but `docker` isn't officially supported in RHEL 8+.

So guessing the docs will slowly shift to RHEL8 and podman.
