Doom and Quake had drop-down command consoles too that let the user change the game's state -- I've included such features in some of my GUI, realtime engine games too. but I would never promote any as a "command line" game
The video for Duskers 2 in the linked article was of a very graphical, real-time engine style game with sound, music and animation

This is one of the stories I wonder how it made the HN front page. Whether an upvote ring or clicks-for-hire service used.
a lot of the modern web could just be plain text files. or simple static HTML or Markdown for links and embedded images.

I stopped reading early when it became clear the author didn't understand the terms (or perhaps the entire language) they were using. Several indicia.
Literally nothing about this requires AI, nor would be wise to involve it, or become dependent on a startup biz service about it.
YC and related VC are all-in on AI. they're simply talking up their book. VC cash is fueling all of this bubble, directly or indirectly.
The pop and deflation may have already started...
