700 people on the site at one time? Or 700 for the day? 700 at the same time is incredible (to me)! You must have been nervous about your server. When we hit 250 we panicked we would go down!
Awesome thanks, I'll check that out. It seems like the hardest thing in the world to get people to come to your site. I keep reading about people who have 1000s upon 1000s who are coming to their site and I just don't get how they've done it! Perseverance and a little luck I guess.
Thanks for the feedback. We normally go for a topic (event, person etc) on a particular day - a topic that has relevance to that day. I then select appropriate quotes for that topic and the quotes are determined by which ones are most popular on GoodReads. Will review them though, thanks.
Slight tangent but if you love short stories then you'll probably like the famous "6 worded story" by Ernest Hemingway. Unbelievable that he could write such an emotional story in 6 words. If you haven't read it - it's here:

One part which is a daily dose of inspiration, and another which is where users can submit inspiring things they've found - a user has posted this video on to the site and not included the source and as such may be a bit frustrating.
