We based Xops (https://xops.net) on OpenRPC for this exact reason (disclosure: we are the OpenRPC founders). It requires defining the result schema, not just params, which helps plan how outputs connect to the any step's inputs. Feels necessary for building complex workflows and agents reliably.

Cool project – I saw the speed estimates on the swimmers during the live feed and was curious how they did that. Are any teams using this for performance analysis ala MoneyBall? Seems like you could get some really interesting metrics from techniques like this that would take a ton of time to collect otherwise.

http://open-rpc.org/ is another OpenAPI-like specification for JSON-RPC based architectures.
JSON-RPC is simple, transport agnostic, can support any transport like Websockets, HTTP, even PostMessage.
One of the problems with this, is that consumers are given no choice in packing material. I just bought a new TV. The TV had the protective sticky plastic, and was wrapped in plastic. Each individual component came in a plastic bag and then all in one larger bag.
All properly disposed of by local regulations.
The fault then somehow falls onto the consumer if it ends up in the ocean?
Taxing companies based on it seems like a trade dispute as most are not US companies. We've seen how easily those are won.

gRPC is great, but my issues with it are debugging and supporting the browser as a first class citizen.
We've been working hard on OpenRPC [0]. An Interface Description for JSON-RPC akin to swagger. It's a good middle ground between the two.

Good Luck! My advice to you would be proof read any emails you're sending out. That stuff might not matter at a 9-5 (it should). But you won't get any work if you can't type a proper email without spelling mistakes.

Allows you to use commonjs instead of amd modules. Then you can manage your dependancies with npm.
