Solarpunk being an anarchist adjacent genre/aesthetic makes it very distant from an authoritarian regime that suppresses freedom of speech such as Singapore…

The problem is not new TLDs, the real problem with phishings in 2024 is that the free Cloudflare layer allows phishers to be protected from automatic phishing detection tools like the ones I develop at my current job.

They also don't offer any programs for trusted third parties so we have to spend a lot of time bypassing and paying for services that skip Cloudflare instead of taking down phishing sites.

I've heard a similar story about a young man that wanting to become a monk, went to the monastery and one of the old monks there told him: "Go get a doctorate, then come back and choose if you really want to give up everything to meditate." or something along those lines.

I'm so happy we are finally getting an easy to use library to use Tor. I've wanted to use Tor in some of my projects but I didn't like having to install it or expecting the user to have it installed already. Time to re-learn rust...

I can understand this from the perspective of a manager or company owner. "Happiness comes from shipping products" or "Choose boring technology" make a lot of sense if you are maximizing profit and don't need to work with the tech yourself.

If you are an engineer and you want to try a new technology, go for it. Even if it doesn't make sense. Learn new things, don't stick with the boring tech. Maximize your own happiness and your own knowledge, not the profit of your higher-ups.

Just like with HTTP yeah. You can download a webpage and publish it with Apache or NGINX too. Are you implying this is bad?
