I'm reading through the description, but I'm having trouble understanding the difference between a client having a higher overall latency due to bandwidth/connectivity concerns (e.g. a 3G phone) versus using a VPN. Both would have increased timings and the clock skew would be similar. Would both would be considered too high for proof of location?

So what should you say? Simply remind them that your results, availability, and team spirit make you a reliable actor in the success of the company. Emphasise your future commitment more than your past success. In short, show them that by increasing your salary, they’re investing in a long-term project.

I noticed this too but I think it was really smart to post robots in those movement roles because it makes these motion limitations “robotic” and mechanical like you said. It felt really attributable to the robot itself being programmed to operate that way.

Also, it could be wherever nuclear wouldn’t be permissible otherwise (e.g floating in the middle of the Pacific Ocean extracting CO2 from the atmosphere, away from populations that don’t want it nearby)

Where does it say it is an HTTP/3 server? Looking at the tests it seems that it’s just a HTTP/1 server I think.

I see what you’re saying and agree that HTTP3 is complicated but I would that since it’s a backwards compatible standard, the added complexities are completely optional. For most use cases the basic protocol is perfectly suitable and only as the scale evolves does it require the additional complexity.

I agree that having an emotional response can help trigger societal change but it’s important to distinguish emotion that comes from within you after seeing information and you being fed content that is intentionally emotionally triggering. I agree that injustice shouldn’t be ignored but letting people think and feel it for themselves can be more powerful and impactful long term than being force-fed what to feel, which can result in people not fully realizing what they’re supporting and also moving on to the next thing that comes up.

For me the intonation of words and the pauses between them seem quite off from natural speech as well.

Just nitpicking here but doesn’t the property of being ordered follow from being able to choose between options at any instance?

One analogy that popped up in my mind is sorting: if you can provide an answer to a choice between any two options in a list, in effect you can use that to order the list.

Interesting point; yeah, I agree that a significant population does not have the ability to move around. If I understand you correctly, you’re saying that in a world where all sales tax is zero, the wealthier population will be able to arbitrage/optimize over the remaining tax types they pay more easily than those less wealthy, resulting in a larger wealth gap. This argument could also apply inductively in a sense over those remaining types as well, since the optimization problem gets easier as we have fewer dimensions of tax types to worry about. What I’m thinking then is the improvement here isn’t to remove taxes entirely but to remove flat taxes like sales tax and replace them with more/varying progressive taxes that make arbitrage difficult?

No; in fact sales tax is what’s shifting the burden in that direction. Income tax on the other hand is a progressive tax that keeps impact more proportional.

This is not necessarily a bad thing. This incentivizes states and districts to compete on taxation and would likely drive sales tax down nationally.

I was really confused by this as well because—as a Indian myself (from India)—I was under the impression that this was referencing the stereotype that Indians (from India) are chronically late.
