In a way, the people that despise Indians most are Indians themselves :) I say it in a non violent way, as a self critique and a welcome embrace of ideas outside of the Indian mold.

There are also Indians who loathe being on such teams and actively seek diverse meritocratic teams, as one of those Indians.

Pytype is used heavily inside Google so they bear the penalty likely more than you. Besides, py typing libraries is a dynamically changing landscape so it isn't anything out of the norm. Not everything is an abandoned project, and if anything Google abandons some projects well after the winners and losers are apparent eg Tensorflow.

My question wasn't about inpainting but eraser inpainting models. Most inpainting models replace objects instead of erasing them even though the prompt shares an intent to delete

Q. Any of you know models that do well at deleting objects from an image i.e. inpainting with mask with intention to replace mask with background? Whatever I've tried so far leaves a smudge (eg. LaMa)

Interior design with image gen AI models. Getting AI to follow your prompt with inpainting is painful.

+1 on this, I've been pushing my team to measure impact more. Else we remain a team of high value that remains unrealized and therefore underfunded, which hurts us all.

HIGHLY highly recommend The Bureau, which is the most real spy show I have ever watched. The Americans is excellent (i've watched all of it) but has some unreal TV-like drama that The Bureau is able to avoid and is imo the pinnacle of spy genre. George Clooney is apparently making an American remake of The Bureau (which is in French).

They do use JDBC and even allow you to customize your choice of driver version for a db. It is a bit clunky when one has to resolve missing dependencies but that's just how it works I guess.

Let's simplify this. Do you think there is a long term incentive for Waymo to not maximize utilization of waymo cars by pricing "correctly" (based on supply, demand and costs)?

It is still a fun novelty mode of ride with limited supply and is priced accordingly and is not a mass transport option yet. Once the supply of cars rises the prices will fall to establish a new equilibrium hopefully much lower than Uber.

I imagine you need someone who's technical in the hardware/robotics space. There's also the route of doing a masters perhaps, or working at a robotics startup before you start your own company. I am curious about YC's thoughts here as well as someone who's enthusiastic about this space. I feel this is the next trillion dollar industry.
