I run it under Xen with a GPU passed through using VT-d. There are dozens of guides for running it in Xen and also many guides for passing GPUs through to Xen guests. No problems to report. The OSX guest has full access to the GPU. Yet to attempt an OS upgrade though.

As for your question, the answer depends on whether you need the GPU acceleration in your adobe products. If so, you'll obviously want to run them on your host system. Support is getting pretty good but it is not there yet.

Parallels and VMware have both rolled out JIT translation of DX->opengl instructions with a windows guest, which is quite impressive. I doubt this improves your lot, though.

I have been waiting for a good Pixel Qi device (in any form factor, really, although a 13" ultrabook or 7" tablet or 4" phone is ideal) to emerge for several years, as it seems a good compromise between utility and readability, although E-Ink appears much better to my eye.

I've never understood what exactly Gitorious / Gitolite offer on top of your typical git deployment, which includes git-daemon and gitweb. The rest is handled by ssh and your OS' authentication/permissions system, whatever that may be.

The website for Gitolite is not exactly clear on this, either. 'Features' include 'fine-grained' permissions and groups, the ability to set git options... A pretty long-winded way to avoid setting up git properly, given that setting it up is very easy indeed.

Does anyone know how to alter / remove the animation from horizontal motion between spaces? Particularly when using the keyboard shortcuts, this whizzing is disorienting and irritating.

I assume it is not possible, given that animation seems to be keenly bound to the trackpad 'peeking' operation and all.

Would you call that low-contrast, though? My comment suggests that both colors are quite some distance apart, so despite the inversion, the contrast is quite reasonable. It just has the added bonus of, you know, not burning the crap out of my eyes.
