My 14 has the switch. I believe the 15 is when they switched to a programmable "action" button in place of the switch.

Thanks! Also read this story decades ago as a young man and it left a strong impression. More then once brought it up as a metaphor in a conversation. For some reason my memory attributed it to Kipling and a few times tried to find it and never could, now I know why, it was Orwell!

"Hunter gatherers" "profound meaning" was what exactly? Religion? AKA superstition fueled by ignorance, that's an option available to you now.

Really whatever your definition of profound meaning is it is available to you now if you choose to see it. If you are waiting for your context to provide it for you, good luck.

All my home PC's dual booting linux/windows (3 I think) are set to think the hardware clock is UTC. Never had a problem, did that at least 5 years ago.

Now relying on that in a production environment ...
